So there is this laptop HP 15-cw0994na with battery issue.
It goes to 100% charge, but take the charger out and give it top 5 minutes, it will cut off power. Won't start at this point from the battery itself.
After plugging charger in, can be started as usual and begins to charge again from 0%.
So pretty much dead battery right? Laptop is also 4 years old, I don't see anything out of place on board. Just old dusty laptop.
So I have started looking for the replacement batteries.
Original battery from this specific 15-cw0994na model is HT03XL L11421-421 HSTNN-LB8M. Rated 11.55V 3470mAh
And I've been trying to match the same one but it's a bit difficult to find. They vary pretty much with capacity and voltages 11.34V 3440mAh / 11.4V 3600mAh / 11.55V 3470mAh / 14.00V 3600mAh. Where most popular from what I've seen were 11.34V / 11.4V / 14.00V but not the 11.55V.
If I will find exact match it's either old untested battery taken from dead laptop or unbranded chinese replacement.
There is however pulled & tested grade a batteries rated 11.34V and they claim it fits 15-CW...
Now I am lacking here a little bit of knowledge.
Could you throw some light on the differences here?
I understand it is different laptop models, different voltages such and such but out curiosity I've been wondering what If I would like to fit HT03XL 11.34V instead of HT03XL 11.55V. Difference is rather minor but will we impact the device functionality, will it be prone to overcharge or is it rather difference in voltage due to its capacity?
On the other hand if there is HT03XL battery rated 11.4V 3600mAh and similar HT03XL rather 11.55V 3470mAh something doesn't add up.
So if anyone care to elaborate I would really appreciate.
EDIT: I think I've done a mistake while writing down the different voltages & capacities... I thought 11.4V was rated 3600mAh but seems to be 3420mAh...
