Dead Asus Strix Scar II, accidentally shorted(?) while disconnecting battery

Hi, first off apologies on this being my first post and already asking for help/advice. I am a novice at repairs with not a lot of experience but wish to learn the proper way of doing these.

So I made a dumb mistake during a recent repaste attempt on an Asus laptop while attempting to disconnect the battery. The connector is a bit iffy to disconnect with my fingers so I used in a lapse in judgement some tweezers to try and pry it off. Basic mistake, never use metal tools on a powered PCB.

I must have somehow touched something close to the battery connector and it sparked. Now the laptop doesn't seem to receive any power from either the battery or the charging cable. What are the odds I just shorted a cap or mosfet and can replace it? I don't see any obvious damage on initial inspection but something definitely blew up. I just hope I didn't damage anything irreplaceable.

I have a DC power supply I can use to inject voltage but I have zero experience working on laptops. Mostly just GPUs. Any advice on where to get started and what my odds are looking like would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
Working...
