    a1297 slow cpu battery not charging but detected

    Hello anyone can guide me to this issue, macbook a1297 5 white blinks, then starts ok, gpu still alive,
    .. laptop works fine but no amber not charging but bat is detected in mac os high sierra, and says 68% but removing magsafe cable it turns off instantly
    It is a 2010 macbook pro a1297 820 2849...

    Is this a sensor issue? Or a bat issue? Thanks a lot!! cpu is performing quite slow...

    Pd of course original 85w charger, fans runs normal not 100%, and did test ASD (diagnostics ASD OS 3S138) for this macbook , and was all ok i think.

          Sounds like a bad battery. How many charge cycles on the battery? Test with a known good battery.

              A client showed up with a Macbook Pro M1 stating that the battery doesn't get charged (no increase in percentage) but still charge. She left me with the battery 25% and still draining. The Macbook is fully functional. I checked with coconut battery and system report. Battery health shows 85% and stating normal condition, no abnormalities. When it is charging, the system says it takes 10 hour to finish charging. I went ahead to charge it for a longer period, the battery just drains (doesn't get charged).

              At first, I thought that this must be a battery issue. I went to replace the battery....

              Hello. Sorry for the long post, but I am trying to decide if this is a simple battery replacement, or potentially something more complicated.

              I bought an open box MacBook Air M1 2020 A2337. Seller claimed it was never used. Visually, it appears pristine.

              On arrival, the battery was completely flat. Computer powers up and boots fine. Battery status showing 1% and charging, 1 cycle. coconutBattery showing 0 mAh and ~6 watts.
              After some hours, the battery status did not improve. Restore via DFU did not help.

              I connected the power adapter to a Kill-a-Watt...

              my MacBook Pro 15" 2018 Touch Bar (A1990) doesn't charge anymore. Board# 820-01041-A

              I'm not experienced in diagnostics, but I want to try to solve the problem with your help, because every local shop charges around 600€ (650 usd). Which is the value of the whole Macbook.

              The Macbook was charging when suddenly the "charging sound" appeared every other second for around 4-5 times.
              After that the Macbook was dead. It isn't charging anymore.

              I returned home from college. My MacBook battery was flat. Plugged it in. Nothing. Won’t boot. Waited for an hour. Nothing.

              When plugging the charger : 20v at 0.02 amps.
              pressing any key will make the « low battery » icon show up. Then switch to 5v and 420mA constant. Trackpad clicks, keyboard works.

              Decided to put the board into another M1 body with a charged battery, it’s booting perfect, still 5v and 420mA tho, and battery is not charging.

              I diode moded every pin of U5200 and they’re all fine. I know very little about Apple silicon machines...

              So my friends A2442 MacBook Pro stopped charging one day and hasn’t worked since. It wasn’t like an immediate shut off, like it worked until the battery died but now she can’t charge it so idk what to do with it.

              I don’t have an ammeter (yet it’s coming soon) so idk if it’s doing anything funky with current or voltage but I know it doesn’t charge on ANY of the ports.

              I took it down to the motherboard hoping to see an obviously bad component but everything looks good.

              I don’t have much experience with laptops, only consoles and controllers...
