MiniPro or XGecu Pro Bios Programmer

Guys, I need to program a BIOS chip, but every video I've seen online uses either MiniPro or Xgecu programmer. So they're both about the same price online. And the reviews on the product are pretty even. So my question is: which one should I buy? I need to unlock a bios chip on HP Elitebook 840 G3.
    thanks

Re: MiniPro or XGecu Pro Bios Programmer

MiniPro TL866A/TL866CS are old products not produced anymore, XGecu TL866II is more recent and still produced.
As illustrated on their website, TL866II has much more features: http://www.xgecu.com/en/ .
XGecu TL56 is the newest but more expensive.

      Greetings badcaps community,

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

      I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

      I learned that desoldering...

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
      1. I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
      2. I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
      3. I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this

      TL866II Bios Programmer
      by bigbeark
Well, I see that I last posted on the subject of BIOS programmers Many years ago now. At that time I bought a Willem Programmer 5.0 which has the Parallel port and USB connectors. I never figured out how this was intended to work whether it was powered from the USB, the Parallel port on the card, or both. I never found a printer cable to make it work so that was a waste of $50.

There is now the TL866II programmer which has only the USB connectivity. Phil's Computer Lab on YouTube has a demonstration of the use of this new programmer.

Has anyone used on of these newer...
