Lenovo S340-15IWL led on, no display, ram not working

    Hi,

I have Lenovo S340-15IWL with LA-H101P motherboard after water damage. Damage was near audio realtek chip (UA1) and input mosfets PQ312 PQ311. I cleaned everything, not soldered realtek yet, but this is not a problem. Bios has clear ME.

Problem is that after power it takes 20mA, after switch clicking it takes 0.6A, led is still on and CPU + GPU is starting. Fan is working for 3 sec. and then it is switching off for some time, then it is switching on once again, I think because of the CPU temperature. I have all voltages on. On thermal camera I saw that onboard RAM is not starting, so I think that might be the problem. Second thougt was that I don't have one element on board, maybe you can help me identify it... I attached photo (it is before I replaced this bad capacitor)

Do anyone know what to do?

This laptop is after some crappy service, so please don't tell me how bad this soldermask looks - I know.

The missing element is likely to be a capacitor which you can ignore. What do you mean by "Onboard ram is not starting"?? Measure voltage on ram coil and post here.

RAM coil voltage after start is 1.2V. By not starting I mean that there is no temperature higher on RAM chips after start than before, measured with thermal camera. I know it should be at least 1 sec peak of some higher temperature, should it?

Hi masters, I need your help.

I am working on Lenovo Legion 16ITHg6
Motherboard number NM-D721, no BV, no schematic but I am attaching very closes ones.

INPORTANT: My motherboard version is with IT8258 IC, that is controlling keyboard and RGB LEDs.

My problem is on UI142, +3VALW_AG is not stable, floating from 0V to 3,3V.
AGKB_PWR_EN_N signal is floating too (that is why+3VALW_AG not stable).
Power LED is not working as well, power button working well.
UI26 ??? is there any firmware too? Powered by +3VALW_AG.

Lenovo A485/T480 USB stops working when USB2.0 is plugged.
            by someonenotyou
            Hi.

I have 2 Lenovo laptops (A485 and T480) with identical USB problem.
When I plug in a USB 3.x device (USB storage), the USB ports are working normal.
But as soon I plug in USB 2.0 device (mouse, USB storage), all the USB ports stop working. Even if I plug in USB 3.x device.

The only way to get USB working again is disconnect battery and reset BIOS.

            Has anyone had anything similar?
I have not yet tried another BIOS, but would that be the problem with USB?

            Thank you.

Lenovo E15 Gen.3 NM-D481 No starting and charging via USB-C, The device starts only via the battery.
            by master3112
I have a Lenovo E15 Gen.3, motherboard NM-D481 with a defective USB-C port. The device starts with battery. When connected to the USB-C power supply, it does not start or charge. 20V is present at the input of the UT5 (High voltage USB PD power switch), 0V at the output
            UT5 pin 3 (SNK_PS_EN) =0V
            RPT3 Pin1+2 LDO 3V3 present
I suspect that the UT2 USB-C power controller is defective because the UT5 is only controlled by the UT2. However, the UT2 supplies on pin 33 (+LDO_3V3) which makes me wonder if it is defective after all. Unfortunately I don't have it here to test it.
