Toshiba Satellite L50-B-2G7 doesnt save BIOS Settings / reverts always to default

Hey guys, im new here and i have a problem.

I bought the above mentioned Laptop without a Harddrive.

I put in a SSD and wanted to install Windows but i cant boot neither from
    USB-Stick nor from the build-in DVD-Drive.

So i went into the BIOS and changed the boot sequence. But then, after
saving the settings (+reboot) i checked BIOS again and still had the old default settings loaded.

I also needed to have the CSM-Mode instead of UEFI for proper Installation, so i changed it , and guess what - after the "Save and Exit" the Notebook restarted and had UEFI again as default.

So in other words, it doesnt matter which settings i change, after save+exit i will always get the default settings.

The only thing which is saved correctly is the date + time. (which ist stored in the battery - which i found out already )

Then i checked for a CMOS Jumper on the Mainboard (DABLIDMB8E0 REV E) and couldnt find anything beside Password reset - which i dont need, since User/Supervisor Passwords wont be saved anyway on that machine.

After googling the problem i found out a Link, which could be the reason ( and describles the problem very well ):

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...x/+bug/1734147

So i'm kinda lost, what to do.

    Any Ideas ?

Apparently there is no way to use any Media to boot from.

Tried UEFI / CSM bootable Sticks. Win8 DVD , Pre-Installed SSD with Windows 10.

None of them are booting, the Screeen shows ( no bootable device please restart system )

to boot from media using UEFI, partition type of the media had to GPT and i'm sure what you have in hand is MBR, so the UEFI bios consider that no bootable drive found

Even Win 10 can be in mbr partition scheme type flash drive or DVD, so just create Win 10 GPT partition scheme for UEFI usb drive with rufus, and you are good to go.

Done that. Didnt worked. Win10 on Rufus with GPT/UEFI

I tried it with Quickboot (F12) and picked the USB-Stick directly -> no media found. restart the system.

Problem is not the media, but the BIOS itself. Its kinda broken.

you should try the "hard way" to update the bios then...

                              Hello forum,

I'm still relatively new to the world of electrical repairs.

I have a Macbook here that I can't figure out

When the battery is gone, the USB input consumption goes up to 20 V and 0.06A. But it breaks down after about 2-3 seconds and you can also hear a small ticking on the logic board. But I can't pinpoint it exactly.

I removed the logic board and took a few measurements.

But I can't really figure it out.

At first I thought the infamous CD chip was defective - but then of course you read more on the internet...

                              by Conste
                              Hello together,

I have a Clevo W25CEW (Terra 1541) with some strange symptoms:

                              1. I cannot save Bios settings by pressing "save settings" in the bios. By pressing "save & exit" it will save the settings.

                              2. I can boot normally (UEFI installation), but when I shut the machine down and start it after a few seconds again it will show resume from hibernation and shutdown after POST, just before windows would boot. Then it will go back to factory settings and my UEFI installation will not boot!

                              Already changed the CMOS battery...

Hello... Where do I start. I have 2 questions/scenarios that might bring this laptop back to life, so here it goes!

I have this laptop (Asus UX52VS) where I was flashing the BIOS to it and it froze during the process. I didn't have a reliable BIOS chip programmer at the time (It was a CH341A USB Programmer from Amazon where it took hours just to get the clamp on the chip and then every time I read, it gave me different results/corruption, and never would pass the verify test as no 2 reads were the same data), so I brought it to a shop. They had it for almost 2 months, but during...

                              New Toy UNI-T UTi260B - What Settings?
                              by RetroComputingGrotto
I've literally just received in the post a UNI-T UTi260B (it's currently on charge).

After quickly scanning the user manual I see there are all sorts of configurable settings (Measurement settings, Palette settings, Point temperature settings and Image Mode). As this is my first Thermal Imaging Camera I have no idea what all these settings are nor if I need to change/configure any of them.

I intend/hope to use this to help me diagnose issues with laptop motherboards so should I just leave the settings as the default or is there someone out there with a UNI-T thermal...
