    Asus TF103C no WiFi

This tablet is running Android 4.4.2, firmware version 2.2.33.122.

When you try to switch the WiFi on, the button switches to "On" but stay grayed, and eventually switches back to "Off". Nothing else happen, nothing interesting shows up with "adb logcat".

I manually updated from 2.2.33.101 to 2.33.122 using fastboot, the built in updater software requires WiFi to work. Nothing changed.

Is it more likely to be a software or a hardware issue?

Fixed by replacing the BCM43340 chip. WiFi and Bluetooth work perfectly fine.
Currently updating using the built-in updater.

Sadly it died again after using it for a while. It upgraded successfully to Lollipop, although now it reboots a minute after power-on, and I obviously have no WiFi again.

maybe it's the connections between the boards.
btw, a common fault on these is loss of touchscreen.
if you get that, reflow the bga controller chip - it's a strange long & thin "flip-chip" that probably suffers from flexing of the pcb.
