    HP dv7-1245ef 1 blink every 3 seconds

This laptop has got a Compal LA-4083P motherboard, with a discrete GPU NVidia 9600M GT (G96-630-C1).

When you turn it on, the fan spins, but nothing shows up on the screen. After about 10 seconds, the caps lock/num lock indicators start to blink every 3 seconds.

Removing the RAM doesn't make a difference, I tried with another CPU and done a CMOS reset. I tried heating the GPU too, nothing changed.

I still think the GPU is dead, what do you think?

Thanks, CPU and GPU VCore were here, but I found +1.5VS and +VCCP shorted: southbridge partially shorted. I'm quite surprised to get VCore on a board with a half dead ICH, but that's how it is…
Also there is a small bubble on the northbridge package. I guess someone was here before me and rehot the chips already…

I'll try to solder a new ICH, but this board is probably beyond repair.

Rare to see an ICH shorted indeed. This may be beyond economical repair if the Northbridge ends up being bad as well, chips can be scavenged from any old board as they rarely fail but the work hours you put into that won't pay off.

        A working TV? How boring!

Ok so the northbridge was dead too. Rather than spending 2 hours replacing both chips only to find out the GPU is dead as well or some other issue, I ordered another "working" motherboard. Obviously it didn't work. At least that one would be easy to fix, PQ402 shorted, and on top of that I've got a donor board. Not messing with it until I'm refunded though.

Acer Aspire 5920G - Requesting Modded BIOS (9600M GT) from .WPH for CH341A Flasher
            by EbrahimSiami
            Hello everyone,
I need help with my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. Its original GeForce 8600M GT graphics card failed, so I replaced it with an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT MXM card.

**Problem:** The laptop powers on, but there is no display (black screen) on either the internal LCD or external monitor. This indicates a BIOS compatibility issue with the new graphics card.

**What I have tried so far:**
            1. I have my **original stock BIOS dump (1MB .BIN file)** from my laptop, which works and allows the laptop to power on normally (but no display with 9600M...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
            by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Lenovo Legion 5 high fan spin turns off after 34 seconds
            by twonk9098
            Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 series CPU and RTX 3070 GPU. My issue is that it turns on and all seems fine except after a few seconds the fans spin up high and the laptop turns off after 34 seconds.
I can get into bios and can even boot and login to Windows however after 34 seconds no matter if Im at the bios screen or booted into Windows it will just turn off.

I have managed to run HWmonitor and the temperatures of the CPU and GPU are fine, I can also touch the heatsync which is warm but not hot.

I have tried a few new bios but exactly...

Un50cu7000 2 blink oddity *partially solved
            by EazyBone
I write this to maybe help another with this TV.

So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.

The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
            by Vebririon
            Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...
