      B+_BIAS is pin1 of PQ3 and also pin1 of PC11.
it is different from B+. I think you measured B+.

Re: VAR00 LA-9201P short to ground

These are the measurements I took from pq3 and pq4? These are the voltages prior to pressing the power... After pushing the power button the 5 volts drops to 0.00 and the 19.6 volts drops to 0.5....

not at all,,, after replacing the ribbon cable and the UL indicator board I get no beeps and the LED's dont light up... I know the board receives power, theres just no beeps or LED codes... Prior to that I did get the 7 beeps from the speakers...

something is faulty on the board that makes the laptop to turn off.
But it is not figured out yet.

now open page45 of the schematics and measure the following points after turning on:
                PCH_PWR_EN , PCH_PWR_EN# , SUSP, SUSP# , SYSON , SYSON#

Re: VAR00 LA-9201P short to ground

                  okay i get
0volts PCH_PWR_EN before power and 0volts after power is pressed
0volts PCH_PWR_EN# before power and .3volts after power is pressed and it drops immediatly to 0.00 this was at qz15 on page 45,, pin 3 gets 5valw...
                  SUSP = 0 volts
                  SUSP# = 0 volts
                  SYSON = 0
                  SYSON# = 0

Re: VAR00 LA-9201P short to ground

now you would better reprogram the EC bios.
this may solve some problems of your laptop.
then we go forward to solve the remaining problems.

It would be better not to change the main bios if it is on a different IC.
make a backup of the main bios first.
If you reprogrammed EC and got no result, then you can attempt reprogramming the main bios.

                              it is uh14.
probably you don't need to buy.
                              search Dell's website.
the main bios can be found in the following page:
                              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=53269
other technicians may provide the EC firmware here.

hello everyone , working zebronics power suply 450 watts , 5v ,3.3v givin short to ground black wire, also in circuit at output, resistor was charred but shows right values , after removing resistors 39ohms, 51 ohms, there was no short , no continuity beeps with ground , but after replacing new resistors (now i am not switching it on) ,again short still exists . when i put bigger ohm resistor like 100k ohm , no short beeping sound comes , lower ohm resistor gives continuity beeps ,other big ones donest , as its a working psu , i am confused what to remove now or how to go further now .

                                Hi all,

I have recently picked up this Dell OEM Nvidia GTX 750Ti 2GB Video card. Its an old card I know but still wanted to get it working if possible. The problem is the following:

                                - Put the card in my testing motherboard and start running Heaven benchmark
                                - Benchmarks seems to run smoothly up until half way then the motherboard completely shuts off immediately
                                - Try to start it again and I get a slight move from the PSU fan - a clear short
                                - A little troubleshooting later I find one shorted Mosfet - Replace them both - short is gone
                                - Put the...

Firstly sorry for my english, french guy inside.

                                I brought a macbook pro A1708 - 820-00840 logic board, wasn't powering on.
History is a day, nothing happened when opening the laptop.

Nothing special inside, no corrosion, no liquid damage, never opened.

First, with the logicboard alone on the desk, mesures are :

I have an Acer that I am working on. It runs on the battery, but does not charge. I changed the power adapter and same thing battey not charging, and continues to discharge. So I opened the computer and started looking for the problem to fix.
First thing I checked is if the power form the charger is getting to the mainboard. I found that 19V is going all the way to the first MOSFET. So DC jack is fine. However I do not have power past the first MOSFET.
So checked for voltage on the gate of the first MOSFET and...
