    KB9012QF A3 chip on Dell 3521

I have a problem Dell 3521. That is +3.3V is short to ground. I try to inject 1.5 V to the Coil and i found heat on KB9012QF A3 chip. I removed it and check again now that short has gone. But i have KB9012QF A4 chip as replacement. Is it OK. That is KB9012QF A3 to KB9012QF A4.

Should be ok to swap A3 with A4. But ... you may need to program it.

Ok thanks katfish. I will try it. But at the moment i don't have the programmer for KB chip. My programmer not supporting to do it. I already ordered for RT809F it will take few days to reach me. First i will fix KB9012QF A4 to the motherboard and i will wait for the programmer.

Yea, I've got one on order as well .... just did a new 9012 replacement. Waiting for the programmer too.

It is possible to use a CH341a ... from what I was reading. But seems to be a pain to get going with it. Need a Linux system and the flashrom program, I think it's called flashrom.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
            by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
            by DynaxSC
            Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

9th Gen Dell Optiplex Micro PC motherboard repair: Short Circuit?
            by Geeker007
Hi All, I have a 9th Gen Dell Optiplex micro PC motherboard which doesn't power on. When I connect the motherboard with power adapter, it goes into safe mode and turns off. So from info I have gathered online, it looks like there is a short circuit on the motherboard. So can you guys help me with figuring out the issue?

I am new to electronics repair, so my queries could be naive but I am ready to learn.

So I have a multimeter and a solder with me. But I can try to get a variable voltage power supply with a thermal camera as well. From what I seen online, best way is...

Hello, I'm looking for bios chip on the motherboard on Dell Inspiron 7610. Server tag: CS4MDL3. I found on the back on the motherboard chip named: Winbond 25Q256JVEQ. Nintendo Switch lite charging chip heats up and does not short circuit
            by fab13
            Hello everyone

Small technical problem on a Nintendo Switch lite
Here's what I noticed: the USB port has been damaged internally, with a short circuit on the power supply line to the small fuse.

After replacing the USB connector, the short circuit went away and I can't see any other short circuit in the whole motherboard.

When I charge the console, it seems to be charging: I get 15 volts and an amperage of 0.450 A.

Then, after a while, the amperage increases to 1.1 A and the BQ24193 charging chip starts to heat up, as evidenced...
