iCraig CLP290 needs factory recovery key?

One senior lady bought this Netbook, iCraig CLP290 has virus needs reset to factory recovery mode, I try this (15 second power button down.) it not works? Any help?

PS: Is this a real ransomware?
PS: How can I open safe mode, OS is Google Android 4.2 ?

Not used to Android besides on Phones, or the x86 port. Try to power the device on while holding down the menu button. Hold for a long time until Android comes up on safe mode.

YES, it does has A reset button, I push the reset 20 sec. still boots back to the doggy pictures.

PS: Thanks for both of you, will try backup and reset from setting.

Some devices don't have recovery mode at all, you need to reflash the firmware, download the firmware and follow te instructions at the begining of the user's manual:

This one is call: Cyber Police (doggy) ransomware.The Hacking Team, based in Milan, Italy.

Cyber Police ransomware can lock your Android device and ask for payment.

After I down load how can I install ? I never do it with Android OS. this notebook has no FDD only has two USBs, I guess I need to unzip to the USB, what happen to the bootload?

PS: This exploit can only affect Android versions 4.0.3 to 4.4.4. That’s Ice Cream Sandwich (2011) to KitKat (2013). Thankfully, most newer phones have already been upgraded to Lollipop (2014) or higher. However, according to the latest Android dashboard (April 4, 2016), 56.9 percent of all Android devices fall into these version numbers. That means more than 500 million Android devices are affected worldwide.

Thanks to everyone, I used to sit on the dark corner and fix everything by myself................................... Now...... I've Got Friends.........

I did it over Linux mint mate 15, I download and unzip the files, copy and paste to SD card. insert into the Netbook everything automatically finished, This is the fast way to do, instead of chasing the doggy................

PS: One more question! Is that man or woman with the doggy?

PS: Lastly, no matter what you do, make sure you regularly backup all your pictures, videos, music, and other important files. Although the Cyber Police attack probably won’t delete them from your device, you might not have access to them while the exploit is in place.

PS: She brought it to BestBuy, "they asked more than the Netbook to repair." She said............!

Yes and no. The copyright holder of Linux doesn't consider Android a Linux distro, and the leader of the Android project doesn't consider Android a Linux distro, so it isn't, really.

Its not real ransomware. Its scamware. Easily removed in safe mode.
