    MacBook Pro A2779 Non Genuine Display Replacement Confusion

    Hi all,

    I bought a screen replacement from AliExpress to repair a Macbook A2779 screen for my friend that from what I am guessing had a tear in the display ribbon cable.

    When the MacBook Pro boots up, the webcam light on the new screen seems to flash about 3 times for a period of 2 seconds for each flash. It also does it again when logging in and then it did it one time randomly about 2 minutes after logging in...

    Does anybody recognise this behaviour/know what the reason is? I have messaged the seller but judging by the quality of what I received (very long backlight and display cables that obstruct the antenna bar a bit, lid angle sensor was torn on arrival and screw on it was wrong so I have to use my original one which doesn't work- I guess because it's not calibrated properly with this new display) I don't think they will be very receptive.

    The camera does work but I was just wondering if it's camera malfunctioning or something more nefarious? The camera does work...

      PPVBAT_AON=12,1 V
      PP3V8_AON=CORRECT


      Symptoms:
      • MagSafe connected: LED initially turns green, then orange
      • Measured at MagSafe: approximately 20 V / 3.1 A / 63 W
      • The MacBook itself does not boot
      • No display, no normal fan activity
      • If I disconnect the keyboard / power button flex cable, the fans start spinning

      Hi everyone,

      I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this issue I'm dealing with.

      I recently bought a MacBook Air M4 13" with the base 256GB storage (16GB RAM). As you can probably guess, the storage quickly became a problem, so I decided to look into an upgrade. I found a company that offers post-warranty repair services for Apple computers, and they specifically advertise SSD upgrade services. They ordered 2TB NAND chips for the replacement.

      Here's the problem: after the installation, the computer doesn't see the new storage and won't boot....

      Hi everyone! As I said in the title, I’m having a really strange problem with a 14” MacBook Pro A2779 with an 820-02841 logic board.

      As long as the machine is powered on, everything works fine: it charges the battery, all three USB-C ports work fine, the LID Angle Sensor is OK, and it sleeps and wakes up without any problems.
