    dell latitude 11th gen and up type c charger problem

    i have latitude 7420 laptop with swollen battery not working ,the problemis that the laptop wont power on with any type c charger anker , ugreen any brand even with lenovo or hp charger ,it only power on with oem dell type c charger, but if you put working battery the laptop charges with any type c charger, is there a solution to power the laptop with any charger without the battery plugged, ps: i tested with 4 latitude 5320 and other same problem

    You have not posted any details on the power ratings of the working vs. non-working adapters. Suspecting that the OEM Dell version that works is better suited due to a higher power rating than the non-working models.

    Review the voltage and watts rating of each to compare. Be sure to use the proper cabling between the power adapter and this logic board. If 100W is required then a proper 100W certified USB-C cable must be used for the interconnect. Ideally, a 240W rated USB-C cable is recommended to cover all bases.

    For debugging, consider to insert a low cost Qianli USB-C tail test tool (Mobile Sentrix) between the logic board and the power adapter (~$20 USD). Then you should be able to see the effect between all adapter models.

      the laptop require 65w and all the charger that i tested are above 65w and its not just one laptop i got more than 10in the shop not for repair but for resale,

        1. Strict Power Delivery (USB-PD) Profiles: Your Dell laptop requires a highly precise voltage/current handshake (usually 20V at 3.25A to hit 65W). Many multi-port third-party chargers split their power dynamically across ports. If a third-party brick drops even momentarily to a 15V or 9V profile, Dell's strict power management controller flags it as an "Unknown" or low-power source and cuts off charging.

Minimum Power Thresholds: Dell laptops generally enforce an aggressive software limit: if a connected USB-C power source cannot guarantee a clean, sustained minimum wattage (often 45W or 65W) right at boot-up, the BIOS safely rejects it.         3. Firmware Communication Errors: While it isn't an encrypted security chip, the Dell OEM 65W Adapter broadcasts a specific "Manufacturer ID" string during the standard digital handshake. If the laptop's BIOS detects a generic or unrecognized manufacturer string combined with erratic voltage, it errs on the side of caution and blocks the third-party brick
