ASUS GU603ZM liquid damage - unidentified hot IC near battery connector

Hello.

Laptop: ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 GU603ZM.

Customer tried to clean the DC jack area with liquid cleaner while battery was still connected.
After that laptop became completely dead.

Findings:
• No reaction to power button
• Battery not charging
• Main power rail was shorted
• Injecting voltage with current limit causes one IC near battery connector to heat up heavily
• This area had visible liquid damage/corrosion
• After removing this IC, short circuit disappears completely
• After soldering it back, short returns immediately

Could someone help identify this IC or explain its function?
I currently do not have schematic/boardview.
