I wanted to remove the BIOS password on my Omen 16, so I used a ch314a to flash a modified BIOS file. Based on readings, the chip seems to have been programmed correctly, however the computer won't POST or boot—no fan, and either the power button blinks 1 long 1 short, or the capslock blinks once before shutting off.
There shouldn't be any shorts or physical damage from what I can tell
This Omen probably has HP SureStart Gen4, a firmware-level security feature embedded in the BIOS, however I've been told that "just by flashing to the dedicated flash there should be no way to brick a SureStart enabled device as far as i know. HP only allows flashing to the ESC's internal firmware flash after extensive cryptographic validation to make sure that it is in fact original HP signed firmware and all the hardware is doing what it is supposed to and there is nothing influencing the SMBus transmission. From my experience with Gen3 it simply boots off the ESC's recovery firmware, displays an firmware corruption error and reflashes the flash chip from the ESC"
I'd appreciate any help.
Omen 16-wd0063dx
serial number: CND3113KPM
board model number: 8BA9
Prod ID: 7Q059UA#ABA
I've also attached the original BIOS dump and the modified version
