    A2141 Macbook 2019 16" - MacOS installation impossible

Hi, maybe someone is able to help.
My macbook pro 16" 2019 is not installing Mac-OS correctly. I erased the disk and gone into recovery and installed Catalina. It ended with an error. Same with internet recovery with Catalina and Tahoe.I can't install another Mac-OS install via USB stick because the T2 blocks it. I erased the disk and don't have an admin user, so disabling is impossible. Setting the correct time via terminal didn’t help. First aid shows no error at all. Sometimes while installing catalina it restarts and loads the update screen with the apple logo and remaining time but at around 8 to 12 minutes remaining it shuts down with a kernel panic. I disassembled the Mac and looked at the motherboard but it looks great so far. Like new, nothing smells burned or something like that. Trying recovery using the Mac without battery also didn't work. An NVRAM pram reset also didn't work. I tried it in DFU mode via revive and restore I've done both and nothing helped. Sometimes restart or recovery shows some sort of graphic failures. The Apple logo briefly appears across the entire screen, and the screen sometimes turns completely white for a second. I need some help. 2019 16" i9 64GB.

You may be facing nand flash failure due to the poor choice of the TPS62180 regulator used in this design.

Review this video and post your updates. Do you have a multimeter?

What I remember on getting old macOS onto old Macs is ...

Yes, do the NVRAM pram reset. But set Date back to days of Catalina (for example). Be sure your installer flash-drive is perfect.

Just like on Windows ... installing a macOS fresh is a good stress-test and diags.

          Run memtest, probably RAM issue

Memtest cannot be executed due to the T2 chip. I ran first aid, but it didn't show any errors.

Seriously And I was all excited when I just discovered a couple of years ago that it also worked on Apple-Macs. So, I guess only older Intel-based Macs without T2-chips huh? Thanks for the heads-up.

You can run memtest. first change security options in recovery partition. You can try reflow ram first too.

Nope,, there is no admin user because MacOS is not installed. Without a user, no rights to turn off the security feature....

                  by veedo
I have Macbook A1534 which had Windows 10 installed on it, now customer want to have macos back because windows is slow.
From disk utility I deleted all partitions ( there was boot camp and macintosh ), created GUID Partition Map / APFS and I'm trying to install High Sierra from USB and its failing in half way, if I use Internet Recovery I have error apple.com/support -5101F, its shows me the option to go under support and mentions that battery have to be replaced.

MacBook Pro a2141 not installing macOS
                  by som_b1
hello. I have 2141 on which I can't restore macOS. When loading, no buttons are active, it immediately wants to restore the Internet. But then I see an error 2100f. It doesn't boot from an external USB.
I can't flash it through dfu because I don't know the version of macOS that was on it. Help
By the way, for some reason it heats up inadequately and the coolers are at maximum

A2141 (2019 16" MB Pro) Strange macOS install issues. NAND? WIFI? FIRMWARE?
                  by duwane
                  Hi All.

Sorry ahead of time for the text wall. This is a strange problem and I have tried to explain it as best I can. I realise this is a hardware forum (mostly), but I am still not sure if this is even a hardware fault! I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me in the area of understanding installation logs, or someone that has had a similar issue in the past may have some ideas of what might be causing this.

                  The issue:
Unable to do a clean install of any macOS versions supported for this model, even after fully erasing and formatting the internal SSD,...

Macbook pro 16" A2141 not updated
                  by PITERPENY
Hi. I've encountered this problem for the first time. I need help. Has anyone encountered it before and how did you solve it? Only MacOS Catalina can be installed on a MacBook via online recovery, and the Mac works fine (although it's also running slowly). But when I try to update the MacBook, it constantly crashes, and nothing else works except Catalina. Attempts to install Venture or Monterey Jack from an external drive are also impossible. I tried DFU recovery, but I can still only install Catalina and can't update, even though the system offers to update to Tahoe. It's impossible to run any...

MacBook Pro 16" (2019) A2141: power consumption? Dead GPU? MacOS not installing
                  by tomtom67
A friend brought his fresh-from-ebay macbook pro A2141 after he failed replacement keyboard plugging.
I fixed all the little problems he introduced.

I am unable to install macOS to this device. Both Sequoia and Catalina (from Internet Recovery) start to install, but after ~2-5 minutes into the installation the macbook does a hard restart (max fan spin for a split second, then reboot without chime).

I noticed what I think is a very high power consumption, like 20V/1.7A when activating WiFi for internet recovery, and more like 20V/3.7-4.1A while downloading the recovery...
