by GodzillerHello, Im repairing an HP Victus with liquid damage.
There was no reaction at power ON so i tried to measure voltage and resistances around the board.
CPU CORE is about 4.5 ohm and GPU is about 0.6 ohm
I hope they are fine.
The EC was dead, if i injected battery voltage i had no 3v3 and the EC was getting very hot it is an ITE IT5570E-256, i bought a new one but i would like to know if it is self programmable from the bios or i need to program it separatly, if yes where can i get the FW?
Also i would like to make sure that other parts of the boards are fine, which...-

by Geeker007Hi All,
I just got a Macbook Pro M2 Pro from marketplace for a repair project. There was no power, neither on Magsafe nor on all USB C. So there was PD negotiation as Magsafe led was not coming on at all. Its all dead. After opening the Macbook, I found liquid damage and I know exactly where there was a liquid damage.
I have cleaned the motherboard properly with Isopropyl but looks like 2 of the SMD caps/res were blown so they came off while cleaning. I could see brown burn mark on the bottom plate as well.
Can someone please let me know what are these... -
by av4xGood morning, everyone!
I've gotten my hands on a few laptops with various defects because I want to get more involved in repairing electronics.
First up is a Fujitsu Lifebook U7511.
It won't turn on anymore and doesn't respond in any way when you plug in a power adapter.
Model: Fujitsu Lifebook U7511
CPU: Intel Core i5-1135G7
GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
RAM: 16GB DDR4 - 3,200 MHz
PCB manufacturer: ASKPCB?
PCB serial numbers: CP801602, CP7984241-Z4, E239218, CP809978-01
Damage: Liquid damage

by tommy97Hi guys,
We're having an issue with an A2337 following liquid damage.
Both CD3217 ICs were severely liquid damaged, so we replaced them. Initially, UF400 was stuck at 5V 0A, while UF500 negotiated to 5V 0.2A and then restarted. FF200 measured 0V.
We then replaced the PPVBUS_USBC0 diode, which restored 5V. However, the behaviour remains the same on both USB-C ports: current rises to 0.2A, stays there for a few seconds, and then drops back down.
The laptop now powers on from the battery. With only the trackpad connected (and no battery attached),... -
by 964758Hello.
Laptop: ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 GU603ZM.
Customer tried to clean the DC jack area with liquid cleaner while battery was still connected.
After that laptop became completely dead.
Findings:
• No reaction to power button
• Battery not charging
• Main power rail was shorted
• Injecting voltage with current limit causes one IC near battery connector to heat up heavily
• This area had visible liquid damage/corrosion
• After removing this IC, short circuit disappears completely
• After soldering... - Loading...
