Hi all,
Looking for some help diagnosing a charging fault on my Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360.
Device details:
- Model: NP960QFG-KA3UK
- Board codename: MARS3-16_WIFI
- Motherboard P/N: BA92-24423A
- CPU: Intel i7-1360P, 16GB LPDDR5
- Part number visible on motherboard: M14Q01W8400114 (not 100% confirmed)
Symptoms:
- Laptop will not charge at all
- Charge indicator light is intermittent — sometimes it comes on when the charger is plugged in, sometimes it doesn't
- No actual charge reaches the battery regardless of whether the light is on or not
- Both USB-C charging ports exhibit the same behaviour
- Battery has been replaced with a new unit — same issue persists
- Original Samsung 65W USB-C charger is being used
What I've ruled out so far:
- Battery — replaced, no change
- Charger/cable — tested with known-good charger, same result
- USB-C ports — both ports behave identically, so unlikely to be a connector or port-specific issue
Since both ports fail the same way, I believe the fault is on the shared power path on the motherboard — likely the USB-C PD controller, the battery charge controller IC, or a power MOSFET in that circuit.
I'd like to attempt a board-level repair but I can't find a schematic or boardview for the MARS3-16 anywhere. Does anyone have access to the schematic or boardview for this board? Or can anyone identify the specific charging IC and PD controller used on this model?
Happy to post close-up photos of the board around the USB-C port area if that would help with identification.
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
