Hello,
My HP Pavilion Plus 16 (product number 9R8T4UA), will not start. One of the battery screws felt off and was rattling inside the case. I do not know if that is what cause the issue.
Connecting the external power adapter - the LED, next to the DC jack, turns ON. Also, it seems it charges the battery, because sometimes if maybe amber color and then turn to white.
Pressing the power button, only the LED in the power button turns ON - nothing else - no fans, no keyboard, no LCD.
Holding the power button pressed, eventually turns off the LED light on the button.
I do not have schematic or board view for this (or similar) board.
Here is bottom side view of the motherboard:

Processor is Intel Core i7 Ultra 155H.
19V power rail seems to be Ok.
5V and 3.3V supplies are also present.
1.8V is present too, but the power regulator is getting hot (just powering the board). Regulator IC is Richtek RT6220 (IC with marking 6J=AJ). 1.8V seems stable.

Resistance to ground, on the 1.8V rail is less than 1 Ohm.
On the top side of the board, the 1.8V rail goes via inductor to something (CPU?). I removed the inductor (the empty L2201 pads):

With the inductor removed, the resistance of the 1.8V rail becomes ~5 Ohms.
Resistance on the trace (label PU1A2 in the image above) after the inductor is less than 1 Ohm.
I checked the two capacitors, on that trace - they are Ok.
Here is wider view of that area (the two capacitors circled in red):

It looks like the 1.8V after the inductor is going to the CPU.
Does anyone know if less than 1 Ohm resistance on the 1.8V power rail is normal for this CPU?
I did not try voltage injection, after the inductor yet, but I am considering that, to see if anything other than the CPU will warm up.
Thank you!
