Hello everyone,
I am asking for your help because I am having a problem with no image on an MSI GE62VR 6RF Apache Pro.
Here is a list of things I have checked:
- Removed/reinserted the RAM
- Removed the hard drive
- Removed the SSD
- Connected via HDMI -> no image
- Tested caps lock -> working
- USB key -> “activity” (LED flashes when inserted)
- Reflashed the BIOS with CH341 using a version found on the MSI website (then checked the dump read with UEFI Tool) -> same result
- Checked the power rails around the CPU on the coils: ~6 ohms
- Checked the power rails around the GPU on the coils: ~3 ohms
- 1V voltage injection test -> 0.8A delivered to the CPU, no temperature increase under thermal camera (ambient temperature 22°C, temperature reading 23°C on CPU). On the GPU, it seems to me to be 0.4A, no sign of overheating
- Regarding the chipset, difficult to test because I couldn't identify these power rails (on the other side of the motherboard), I tested for short circuits in the capacitors and found none.
Symptom: the computer “starts up” (fan + keyboard backlight and LED) but no display, stops, then restarts, a kind of BIOS initialization if I understand correctly, then stops and restarts again and remains stuck with the fan on and LED on at 1.6A, no boot signature or anything.
If you have any ideas, I'm all ears. Also, if you have a diagram of the board and measurement points to check, please let me know.
