I did flash it with dfu. On the main one there was monterey and on the broken one catalina. Then the internet recovery started. everything is ok)))
and I understand that on all MacBooks T2 after erasing it is necessary to restore only via the Internet, because by default the USB boot function is blocked

You can't boot off USB on T2 machines without changing the security in recovery mode. But to do that, you need an Administrator account on the machine to change it. So if the machine is wiped, your only option is Internet Recovery.
As a heads up, I enable every T2 machine to boot off USB (I just choose minimum or no security) whenever they are in for service, as Apple will probably switch off the recovery servers for Intel machines once 7 years has elapsed. The machines will effectively be bricked in that instance if the user is stupid enough to wipe it without changing security. I get machines in all the time where the user has wiped the drive and can't reinstall the OS because of this Apple bullshit. Usually it won't load over WIFI, I need to use a USB to Ethernet adaptor to get recovery to effectively load on some T2 machines.Leave a comment:

It seems something came out of the DFU - now it is. The Alt key works, but the MacBook refuses to boot from USB. it still transfers the recovery to the Internet.Leave a comment:

MacBook Pro a2141 not installing macOS
hello. I have 2141 on which I can't restore macOS. When loading, no buttons are active, it immediately wants to restore the Internet. But then I see an error 2100f. It doesn't boot from an external USB.
I can't flash it through dfu because I don't know the version of macOS that was on it. Help
By the way, for some reason it heats up inadequately and the coolers are at maximumTags: None

by tomtom67A friend brought his fresh-from-ebay macbook pro A2141 after he failed replacement keyboard plugging.
I fixed all the little problems he introduced.
I am unable to install macOS to this device. Both Sequoia and Catalina (from Internet Recovery) start to install, but after ~2-5 minutes into the installation the macbook does a hard restart (max fan spin for a split second, then reboot without chime).
I noticed what I think is a very high power consumption, like 20V/1.7A when activating WiFi for internet recovery, and more like 20V/3.7-4.1A while downloading the recovery... -

by duwaneHi All.
Sorry ahead of time for the text wall. This is a strange problem and I have tried to explain it as best I can. I realise this is a hardware forum (mostly), but I am still not sure if this is even a hardware fault! I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me in the area of understanding installation logs, or someone that has had a similar issue in the past may have some ideas of what might be causing this.
The issue:
Unable to do a clean install of any macOS versions supported for this model, even after fully erasing and formatting the internal SSD,... -

by SimplebeansI have just got in a MacBook Pro A2338 which was initially displaying the Apple logo followed by an explanation mark in a circle as described here:- https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102164.
After some error messages attempting to revive and restore the machine via DFU mode i have finally got the machine revived however now the issue seems to be when attempting to install macOS Sequoia via a bootable USB installer or via macOS recovery the machine just keeps freezing and restarting before the installation is complete, usually the installation has just started or is mid way trough before...08-10-2025, 11:04 AM - Loading...
