Does it have to be exact same bios chip?
    i have mx25c6473f from a desktop motherboard.
    Both are 64 mb.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

This will be my segue into owning a hot air rework station.

Opening the BIOS in UEFITool - Descriptor region says this:
      Flash chips in VSCC table:

      C22017 (Macronix MX25L64)
      EF4017 (Winbond W25Q64)
      EF6017 (Winbond W25Q64)
      C84017 (GigaDevice GD25x64)
      20BA17 (Micron N25Q064)

Either one is compatible, if the other chip you have is actually MX25L6473F it looks like it's compatible, according to the datasheet for that chip the device ID is C2 20 17, which is in that list

        Replaced my bios ic sucessfully.
        from w25Q64 to 25L64.

My system still freezes when i press esc key to interrupt boot sequence. (To get into bios)

i.e. gets stuck at asus splash screen.

If i try get into bios using advanced startup options.
My pc still freezes but on a blank black display after asus splash screen.

        I came across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0YzSWBm-TQ
but since i only have one display, i donot know how this applies.

Sometimes(after i have not used my pc for some time) my pc will have issues with posting.
I have noticed that my cpu and my chipset will get hot.
So i wait for them to cool off and then try starting again, it works.

When my pc starts and run smoothly this heating is absent.

I think i have figured it out.
          its my ssd.
If i remove my ssd, my bios boots up fine.

          But my ssd is new.

How to verify if my ssd is faulty, or port or a compatibility issue?

How to verify if my ssd is faulty, or port or a compatibility issue?
Only way to test if SSD is faulty, is to test it on another PC if it causes the same issue
As PCIe Gen 4 SSD should be backwards compatible with PCIe Gen 3 host, like your laptop, it will be limited to Gen 3 speeds (max 3200MB/s) so there's no point spending more on a Gen 4 SSD, unless you plan to reuse it later on a newer PC
Amazon reviews from the link you posted say that it runs hot, assuming it draws more power than a Gen 3 SSD

I'm assuming the BIOS detects properly the SATA HDD, and you can access its contents from a live USB

Measure resistance across B5301, it should be 0 ohm, it connects 3.3V to the M.2 connector, your board either has that part installed, or it has a solder blob across JP5101
If B5301 is faulty, you can close JP5101 with a solder blob
If instead of B5301 you have a solder blob at JP5101, ignore what i said

I have used my ssd to read and write, and also checked for bad sectors on the same laptop, from booting to windows. All test passed.

I suspect my motherboard can only support 128 gb ssd, because the only place i have issue is bios.
              Source : https://www.manua.ls/asus/fx553ve/manual

And my bios/motherboard cannot handle such high capacity causing issues.

today i will def. check my laptop, after work though.
              see ya!

May be an unsolved BIOS bug then, if you have another M.2 NVMe SSD you can try, preferably an older one PCIe Gen 3
If you can boot to Windows normally, but not enter BIOS setup with the current SSD, but removing it allows the system to boot, i don't know what could cause this behavior as i saw posts from people who claimed to upgrade with NVMe drives without issues here:
                https://www.myfixguide.com/asus-rog-...grade-options/

Also if you can source an M.2 SATA SSD you can try that one too,

Asus ROG Ally X -RC72LA - changed hidden bios settings with 'Smokeless-UMAF', won't get past boot logo

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns - Complete Black Screen - Only video on live usb
                  by iZakre
                  Hello everybody!

To put you in context I recently replaced the battery from my HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns with a used one, everything was going good. The same day, I decided to update the BIOS, everything went good. The thing occurred after I let the battery drain iddling on Windows 11 for the second time to calibrate it that the screen did not turn on again, the computer was on but the screen did not turn, like it would not wake from hibernation. I decided to restart the computer but got no video.

The thing is that I had installed TeamViewer and could log into the computer...

Lenovo T480s, what's up with this Bios, modded boot logo, reflashed now bricked

                  Chip MX25L12873F

Hi, I have a few of these & they came with a custom bios boot logo, no passwords etc.

2 x were brand new unused but with custom boot logo, 1 I installed Windows/ran updates then it bricked itself. 1 wouldn't get past the custom bios boot logo.

The third I loaded windows, took a backup of the bios chip, then tried to flash several different clean bios's via programmer which all caused it to not boot. I tried to reflash the original bios both using clip & desoldering but...

Bios partially corrupted somehow and now warm boot doesn't work which is critical
                  by Neddsme
                  Hie.
I own a Lenovo ideapad v310-15IKB with an i5 7th generation with only Intel graphics configuration.
Now the heart of the problem is that I don't know when or how it happened but I suddenly started getting distortion in the graphics output on the LCD. This basically meant a black screen full of flickering multicolored short horizontal lines. This would happen 30-60 minutes after booting and using it normally.
I run Windows 10 20H build so I thought it was just a Windows update issue or graphics driver outdated issue.
I managed to run Windows troubleshooting and...

Lenovo LOQ mdl 151RH8 bios Q: Can't get usb boot to list
                  by Max029
I've searched and read Beginners guidelines and other sticky threads. This is just a simple bios question. If I may, I'm having trouble finding any help, including from lenovo tech support & forum, for how to get usb boot to list in boot options. I'm trying to run memtest86 so nothing as highfaluting as re-install, flash a bios, etc.

I've made usb boot enabled and secure boot is disabled. I can find no other option in bios ver LZCN34WW (the original bios). Would anyone here be familiar with LOQ or Legion bios versions & know what is going on?
