Acer Nitro 5 not charging but working with battery
Hello Everyone
First I must say I am trying to learn electronics. I have an Acer Nitro 5. Board is LA-861P. The laptop does not charge but when it has battery life it would power on and work fine. I have use a multimeter to check the charger and I get 19v.
Input on PBQ3 mosfet is 19v but no output or very low voltage. The voltage on PCZ65 and PCZ48 is 2v and it keep dropping after putting the charger for a few second. Battery pin would give like 0.200v declining.
If I put the laptop off for like 2-3 months it would start charging again but I need to do this procedure :
1. Put the charger in the power socket
2. Power it on
3. Plug it in the laptop.
Last time it worked for 3 months after it died because I did not follow those procedures. This is the third time it stop charging.
Anyone has an idea about what can be the cause ? It is about the same issue as here : https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...er-no-charging but mine would power on with battery.
