    acer an515-55 pch controller was replaced

    several rails were shorted and the pch controller was replaced to resolve the issue. now i don't get any LEDs and no powering up at all. when i press the power button several power rails show up (3valwp, 105valwp 1.8valwp)

    Whenever you replace the PCH the intel ME firmware must be cleaned in the bios. Here`s some guides https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...22#post1622422 . If you can`t do it yourself post a request in the bios requests forum

      Where did you source the replacement PCH from? Was it new or a device pull? Biggest issue with PCH replacement is getting one that actually works.

      I would still expect it to boot with a dirty ME, albeit very slowly.

                i've replaced the pch with a brand new one and that got the laptop working again. Is it possible for an m.2 SSD to short a pch?
