    Compaq CQ62-210US no dispplay

I acquired a dead compaq cq62 motherboard yesterday. When I attach power adapter no led light in dc jack which indicates no power. I have check board and there seems no heating components and all is looking good. decided to program bios with the file downloaded on HP website.

After bios flash dc jack now has led light indication that it receives power. When I press power button it turns on but there is no display on external monitor. tested different memory and still no display. I cannot test it with lcd panel because I don't have any spare here and owner didn't have it too. I don't have keyboard too.

Does this indicate that bios reprogram is a fail? I also notice that if I press power button again it turns off, Its like commencing correct power off command. I usually see laptop with vga issue which does not turn off when power button is pressed. any ideas? Thanks.

I'll try it fddizon but before that I wan't to look for good bios first. One thing, the file I got from hp website was an exe file. When I extracted those file I found 3 versions of .fd with different sizes. 1mb, 2mb and 4mb, I used 1mb because the bios dump I saved from the bios chip itself is 1mb. I've got 2 other more from other sites.

when flashing hp/compaq always read and dump bios from eprom it can help later rebuilding DMI and it can help determine exact version of motherboard/bios combination

it would be best for you if someone should dump working bios with rw-everything or directly from eprom and test with that

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Intel Arc A380 videocard power limit remove - BIOS needed
                by iulik17d
                Hello everyone!
The Asrock A380 low profile card (ID 8086 56A5 - 1849 6006) have an power limit of 45W. Intel removed the possibility to increase power using the software utility, anyway the card is in an proxmox machine that doesn't run windows.
The same hardware is in another form by the name Asrock A380 Challenger that have the same VRMs and the power limit is at 60W. I searched online and found on another website an .bin bios file from the Challenger variant, that I flashed using an CH341a. Flashng worked well, I put the card in PC and booted. GPUz shows that new device ID is 8086...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                HP Omen 15-dh0052nf power-on & bios password
                by Nopslide
Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....
