MacBook Air A2681 M2 No display, no backlight

    Hi
I have the exact same fault as princepal
    No display, no backlight, BL_PWR_EN = 0V
Lid sensor works fine, also ext display via USB works fine.
I don't have a spare display available for testing, any idea how to proceed?

    Thanks!

Do you have an image on the display? Confirm with a phone torch light.

What is the history of the laptop?

      Thanks for the quick response!
No image with a torch light either. History is that the problem "just happened" - but you never know ;-) No signs of liquid or abuse though..

Carefully review the voltage to ground of the display load switch that supplies power to this target. Post each measurement.

Issue may be with the lid sensor believing the lid is closed. Test with an external screen using USB hub / dongle to HDMI. Do you see the proper graphics there?

Does the caps key led toggle upon press? If yes, then you are at the login screen and the OS is booting.

                  Hello all,

Am trying to figure out this backlight issue with this A1990 Macbook Pro.

                  Tests performed:

There is no backlight even with a good screen.
Backlight IC is receiving the correct support voltages.
                  Fuse F8400 ok
                  Current sense resistor R8400 ok
Backlight IC is receiving 3.3V on enable pin.
Backlight IC receiving voltage from PPBUS_G3H, aprox 12.5V.
Backlight IC receiving 5V from PP5V_G3S
Backlight IC BKLT_SCL and BKLT_SDA both measure 0.545V diode mode to ground
                  I2C_BKLT_SCL and I2C_BKLT_SDA both measure...

                  Hello world.

                  I'm newbie here

The problem with my macbook pro 15 2019 (touchbar) is that one day before going to bed I closed the lid, and in the morning I found that the backlight of the display does not work (there is an image, i can see it with a flashlight).

Nothing was ever spilled on the macbook, never dropped, disassembled only once to replace the battery.

My friends and I tried to diagnose the problem on our own, but we didn't come to anything, we replaced the U8400, it didn't succeed, flexgate seems to be normal, although I'm...

MacBook Pro A1286 Mid 2012 no backlight but display working
                  by Gigabit2
I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012 with no backlight but the display is working. Have shined a light through the Apple logo and can see the display working.

This is my first time doing one of these repairs so my apologies for anything stupid I say or anything obvious I miss

                  Board is 820-3330-B.

F9700 is showing 3.3V on both sides of the fuse, I believe it should be 12.6V?

Now I have got stuck, what can I inspect next?

                  Many thanks.

                  Hello guys...

I bought MacBook from a garage sale the owner told me that the MacBook was dead and it did not display nothing, at first I thought it was related to a t2 problem so I did the bride OS with my other MacBook I was able to revive it but it did display the apple logo but on the apple configurator the lock symbol was there upon further inspection the MacBook did make the chime sound every time I disconnected the power cable but still it did not show any display also the caps key was able to light up, with nothing else to do i remove the motherboard and found the following...

Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U - Replaced Backlight LEDs but now no image/display or garbled
                  by signal.quest
I have a Panasonic LED TV TC-40A420U. The TV was given to me as an attempt to fix or throw out. I replaced the Backlight LEDs and now the screen lights up, but there is no image/display. If I play with the up/down buttons I can get the display to change from black to garbled. I can't get sound from HDMI but not sure of what input is selected. I have no remote control. When I connect a laptop to the HDMI ports it recognizes a Panasonic TV for display and sound output but I can't see or hear anything through the TV. This makes me think the mainboard is OK, but not sure if mainboard can...
