With it switched off test continuity from socket solder pins to speaker - just to make sure the pins are ok in the socket. Then you are on to those little transistors

Another thing to look at is - when the earphone is inserted into its socket it usually operates a mechanical switch to turn the speakers off.
I have known the switch in the earphone socket stick or break leaving the speakers off
                    when the earphones are removed.

I was aware of that and removed the small pcd the audio jacks were on that connected to the main board; it was connected by a ribbon cable which I removed but same issue.

When continuity set on tester, I touched ground pin on charger and ground on speaker, top - after red, and I get a beep (Ref to the above picture). Touching the bottom-ground of speaker I get nothing.

When speaker is removed from socket, I only get continuity on red pin of speaker socket.

Sorry dont know what you are trying to do - I wanted you to test continuity from the 4 pins on the board ( left of the socket) to the wires where the join to the speakers. Are there 2 speakers one on red and black
                          one on white and black?

I have tried another speaker and nothing. So I assume board issue; not speaker issue.

                            Edited:

Pins inside socket are not bent.

OK so using continuity try and trace backwards from the red wire pin
                              May be a doublesided board?
I am away for a couple of weeks so hopefully others will help.

stop using pc with that problem. disassemble completely the mainboard and 1° inspect for corrosion, burned component, 2° we can see schematics for other solution

                                      Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
                                      M:1.00/11107BLP
                                      D:?.??/????????
                                      O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

                                      Just to recap:

No sound through Audio and AV analogue inputs, only sound when 2ch stereo or pure direct is activated (so no sound when I e.g. choose 7ch of Hall in Munich etc.). Hoever when I connect HDMI I've sound in all options (movie, music, eyc.) First suspicion was the DSP chip/PCB so I bought a scrap 1030 with a good functioning PCB (in this one a driver stage was defective (PRT DC: 67), after I swapped the PCB I've performed a factory...

Does anyone one have any experience repairing this amplifier? I looked it over, checked some the of output transistors, some of the power resistors and cleaned that nasty conductive epoxy glue stuff off but not having much luck in the trouble shooting department.

I did however find a part of the PCB that was discolored from heat...

Bose Wave I AWRCC1 - intermittent to no sound output - loud popping & crackle sounds

                                      Dear reader

I have been asked to check out a faulty Bose Wave system belonging to a relative. The faulty unit produces loud intermittent pops and crackles. Sometimes there is speaker audio output (FM/AM, CD etc.), most of the time there isn't. This behaviour degraded over time fairly quickly, to the current situation where no sound is put out at all. Gently messing and wiggling wires, connectors or heatsink has no effect in force-replicating the problem. I have little experience in audio repair when it comes to (main)board electronic component faults. Bose repair WAS about 140$ (most...

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
                                      by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

                                      What Ive done........
