Are you using 87W charger? = used 100W
For A1707 models You must use an exact 87W OEM Apple brick. For some odd reason the board does not like anything less or more. Hope this helps.

I tried the Apple 87W unit, it didn’t work! but thanks for the tip. I still have 20v and 0.000a stable

maybe this board also has problems with the thunderbolt firmware?

You have 20V so not TBT linked IMO. Do consider a BIOS reflash but backup the original. PS: Do you have a warehouse of boards in your facility? Nice to have if you do

oh yes, I have a whole box of boards of any kind! with my knowledge there are more and more of them! I'll try to upload a bios from a donor! If it doesn't work, I'll ask you)

so I rewrote several options for the OS, including with a clean region, the board consumption is still = 0V, substitution from other boards also did not give anything! I installed a BIOS chip from this board onto another one and it starts it up! Apparently we need to look for the reason elsewhere (

What is the voltage to ground of the following points? Given that your PPBUS_G3H is boosted, these lines should be ok but do confirm it. Along with the current PPBUS_G3H voltage to ground.

                    SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL
                    SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA

After you attempt to power up, what is the current draw ? Stuck @ 0A ? What is PPBUS_G3H? Stable voltage till you unplug the adapter?

Is the other unit that is working with a battery? Test this one with a battery.

I fiddled with it for 2 weeks, replaced the PCH (U1100) and the MacBook came to life. therefore, if A1707 consumes 0.000A, I think 99% of PCH(U1100) should be replaced.

Very nice! Personally would have tossed it. Share the details of the donor PCH. Anything special or just replaced from another A1707 donor board?

I took it from the same donor board). but since it’s green I think it’s a product from Intel)

Awesome! Thanks for the updates and pix. For this series, I believe they are all from Intel. Later models have the Apple silicon.

                                Hello,

I am looking for the boardview file and the matching schematics (PDF) for the following MacBook Pro:
                                • Model: A1707

                                • Board number: 820-00928-A
I already searched the forum, but so far I haven’t found a matching boardview for this board. In several posts I came across, it was also mentioned that the uploaded files were often incorrect.

                                Thanks in advance!

                                Greetings from Germany...

Hi guys I have a Macbook a1707 with motherboard 820-00281, without liquid damage that behaves strangely, with the battery connected the Macbook does not turn on and the USBC meter stops at 5v in loop, when I disconnect the battery the Macbook turns on and works fine, I have already tried to replace the battery twice without success, as soon as I connect the black cable of the battery the Macbook does not turn on, it stops at 5v and in loop.

                                Hello there

I have problem with Macbook Pro 15" 2017, model 2017, MB code 820-00928.

I bought it as broken with some artefacts on the screen, first I thought that this is problem with ribbon cable but after inspectiing ribbon cable I know it is fine. I tried to reinstall macOs and then I figured out that this must be something with GPU as installation freezes at the end (when drivers are loaded). I installed Windows and was able to install every each of drivers except GPU driver, as soon as I tried to install GPU driver - black screen and restart.

                                ...

                                Apple MacBook A1707 No Audio/Sound
                                by tommy97
                                Hi,

I'm having an issue with an A1707 MacBook Pro—there's no audio output. Initially, the MacBook came in with a no-power problem, and I found a faulty U6400, which I've now replaced. The laptop now powers on, but there's still no sound.

I've also replaced U6300, but the problem persists.

Here are the current voltage readings:
                                • PPV18_S0: 1.8V
                                • R6402: 1V
                                • R6405: 1V
                                • R6403: 1V
                                • AUD_SPKRAMP_RESET_L: 1.3V
                                • PPBUS: 12.6V
