    HP X2 1012 G2 Type-C problem

Hi everyone. An HP X2 1012 G2 came the other day. The problem was that the device drained the battery while off. I checked and saw the current is 0.2 before start. I went and checked parts on the MB and saw that the JHL6340 IC that is responsible for controlling Type-C gets hot. Everything worked fine and I checked charging and data of type-C both were OK. I went ahead and replaced the JHL6340. Now it does not get hot, no current before start, charging is OK, but the data of type-c is lost. I mean any type-c device like flash memory or hdmi adapter etc. do not work. I tried another jhl6340 and still the same problem.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Check each pin on the type c connector at the pcb pads in diode mode. Remove all power. Meter in diode mode. Red meter probe to ground. Black probe to point to test. Post each measurement and pin tested. The faults may be due to defective esd tvs diodes or a transient that killed the TBT controller the first time.

Thanks for your reply. The point is that before replacing the TBT controller I checked data and power of type-c connector and I am 100% positive that everything worked fine. So eventually the TBT controller was not dead. Would it possibly change any part of your suggestion?

Attached is the values I got from type-c connector pins. Any suggestion?

Post a pic of the type C connector from the same side where these measurements were taken. Wish to compare the pinout to the connector's datasheet.

Concerns about the attached and circled areas.

You are missing some parts in these PCB pad areas. Be sure the PCB tracks are not broken here.

Sorry bro, thought you just need to see the pinout.
The exact pcb pics are attached.

                  Could it be software related?
Like those devices that need the bios be modified when replacing SB?

Personally would consider to scrape very gently the blue solder mask off the round vias you can see on the PCB layout. That is, to allow for the meter to test each such PCB via from the connector through hole pads to these vias. Do this for each such PCB trace. Confirm that you have ~0 ohms between the paths (A-B conductivity checks). Proceed with care so that the via nor the trace are cut in the process of this investigation.

Diode mode is not recommended here because the meter will tone beep even if the resistance is ~30-50 ohms. We do want to confirm that each trace check is ~0 ohms. Short your meter probes to confirm the lowest the meter can measure before starting. No power during these tests. Want to rule out the connector / PCB traces / PCB vias as the fault.

                        LG OLED55B8PLA problem
                        by funyy
                        Hey there,
So I got a problem with my LG OLED TV (OLED55B8PLA).

the problem is that the tv won‘t power on some times, the led stays red and won‘t even blink, just solid red when I try to turn it on. USB devices connected won‘t light up. 1/4 of the screen (left side) shows some green „clouds“ that are getting brighter everytime I turn the tv on and after some tries the tv finally turns on. Sometimes it takes 10 tries and some times 100 or even more tries.

When the tv is on, everything works fine, hdmi outputs, usb inputs, wifi, bluetooth, etc is working...

                        hi to all
I have the above motherboard on which I had windows xp I upgraded it to windows 10 everything went well just when it rebooted and got updates i saw a message for a very short time that windows is trying to fix a problem they found and then the problem was overcome and all is well
the computer works normally without any problems on the internet and in everything
but I found out unfortunately when I had completely cut off the power supply from the network and I went the next morning and plugged it in to turn it on when it went to boot a black screen and the cpu was working...

A1708 - Problem With Display - Driving Me Insane
                        by Ado02
I am working on an A1708 MacBook Pro 13 / Mid 2017 with a keyboard problem. I replaced the palmrest and installed a new battery, which is when the fan started.

When powering on the MacBook, the fan would spin for a few seconds and go off, and nothing would show off on the screen. However, when I disconnected the battery, the laptop would work.

So, I ordered a new battery, but the problem was the same. I spent hours figuring out the problem, but the logic board eventually stopped working.

The next step was to order a replacement logic board - but...
