this one was powering up but no display and i later found a cap that was shorted to ground on 1v1_s3. but before i found that short i reflowed some stuff now i can't get it to power up anymore but the battery will charge
820-01949 charges the battery but doesn't complete the restore in apple configurator

by myth77I am having issue with macbook pro a2141, 2019. It start with question mark, the only option is internet recovery but it will not go to disk utility mode..just stops on like 1/3 progress bar with apple logo.
When i insert usb disk it will not recognize it, but on usb ports it is giving picture on external screen. It is heating a lot.

by mon2Hi. I think we have a candidate for our first DFU macbook with a 'critical update error' message (A1706).
With regret, we do not seem to have a machine to mate to a suitable host to run the Configurator 2 tool.
Any suggestions on such a box ? The latest models are quite expensive on Ebay and such.
We do have a macbook with the older style Thunderbolt connector - can we purchase a Thunderbolt to USB C cable and run the same tool ?
The system details does show a THUNDERBOLT controller on this other macbook.

Judy doing some research on whether anyone's ever been able to resolve this. Seen quite a few examples and most have just gone eh guess it's dead, but surely there's something we can try?
For instance, I'm working on a 2020 now with this error. Logiwiki says error 75 occurs when the system is in recovery mode but when I connect it to apple configurator it does show up as DFU so that doesn't seem right. When I try to restore it gets up to step 4/4 and the bar gets to the S of system then that's where it gives that code. Apple configurator then sits on "apple... -
I've got a macbook air A1932 here which a customer abandoned. I'd like to get it running so I can sell but having difficulty. I ran it in DFU mode through apple configurator, and chose 'Restore' and it went through to step 4, then it looked like it was making progress when all of a sudden the large, grey EFI lock showed on Apple configurator. Isn't DFU supposed to reflash the firmware?
I have a DS-809SE but there is no SAM port on this board. Also, I removed the board and examined but didn't notice any BIOS-looking chip.
