Hello, I'm encountering a similar issue. I lack expertise in motherboard repairs. My laptop, the X1 Carbon Gen 8 (Core i7 Gen 10), suddenly stopped working. The technician recommended replacing the IC (db4179) with another one (62D518FTG). The motherboard only turns on when heat is applied. The technician mentioned a missing 3V startup supply and added a circuit in the laptop to provide that voltage. Now, the laptop turns on but drains the battery even when shut down. My machine is relatively new and has been rarely used. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
