    Nitro AN515-55 not booting

    Hi,
i am currently trying to fix an ACER Nitro AN515-55. Originally the 19V was shorted by the VCCGT Powerstage. After removing it the short was gone. I tried replacing the mosfet and also booting the system without it and a Monitor connected to HDMI. In both cases the system lights up, cpu, gpu and pch get warm but there is nothing on the screen. Is it possible that the short took out the igpu and the cpu at the same time or is the system just unable to boot without an functioning igpu. The system also didn't boot with a functioning mosfet for the igpu rail. Resistance on VCCGT is 4 ohm, because of that I think the IGPU is defective. The resistance of vcore is about 2.5ohm, is that normal for an i7 10750h? Thanks in advance!

The resistance readings on Vcore/VCCGT is correct for this CPU. However, your iGPU inside CPU is definitely burnt out as 19V has reached CPU thru shorted VCCGT mosfet. So game over unless you want to replace SOC.

Ok thank you, but wouldn't the system still Boot without an igpu over HDMI(HDMI is connected to the dgpu)? That way it would at least still bei usable as a Desktop.

No. Even on boards where there is discrete graphics, igpu is needed for display.

In such scenario you'll feel like display is about to come but the wait will be forever with no display.

Thank you, yes that is exactly how the system behaves.
