Dell Latitude 5580 possible bios corruption
Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p
3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
(from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)
I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.
Since ssd is replaced and had clean install windows, i've made a guess that "recovery image" is on disk and it's BIOS recovery image. Am i right?
Dell claims that "Auto-Recovery is only available on BIOS Recovery from hard drive"
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/e...uter-or-tablet
In case i'm right and lost the original hdd, how can i restore the bios while keeping the windows key within? (i have ch341 if needed)
THE SOLUTION:
Download from Dell site the bios for the specific laptop. Rename the exe file to BIOS_IMG.RCV and put it in a FAT usb.
Plug the stick to the right usb port (in the left it didn't work)
Plug battery.
Hold ctrl+esc, plugged charger.
Laptop turn on, post, run bios recovery.

Greetings comrades:
I am nearing the home stretch of my BIOS recovery project; however, I reach a point where I must ask a community of hopefully astute members who would help to send this project across the finish line. I successfully completed the BIOS extraction with a Python utility which produced a pair of outputs that I have attached as a Zip file. Frankly I do not know what to make of such results and wondering I can proceed to program the chip with the System BIOS with BIOS Guard [V0 AMI] v2.42.0.bin or I have more work to do for preparing the files for re-flashing. I will...-

HI,
I have a Dell T7820 stuck in Bios recovery mode. I never get Dell Boot screen or anything visible on screen. The system just gives me 3 white lights and 3 orange lights indicating Bios recovery mode.
What I have tried to get to recover the Bios, there seems to be some conflicting advice about recovering the system.
All of them say to download the latest bios from the dell website which is a .exe file. I have done that

by mikeybassHi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-
