A1398 15” 2013 short when screen plugged in

    Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro 15” A1398 2013 that has no backlight, but I see an image when putting light through the logo. I noticed that when the screen is plugged in, I get a 300 ohms short (see image).

When unplugged, the short is gone.

    Any idea?

Post the 820-**** number of the logic board.

Unable to locate the proper boardview file for this PCB but the 300 ohms to ground is not considered a short. Have seen where some regulators offer an internal 120 ohm resistor to ground as a 'bleed or drain' resistor to drain the voltage quickly for the next power up session of the regulator.

        1) What is the voltage to ground of PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT?
        2) Be sure the that the display is compatible with this chassis.
        3) Remove all power. Meter in DIODE mode. Red meter probe to ground, yes red. Black meter probe to the point to test.

Test the diode mode readings for each of the return LED lines:

MacBook Pro A1398 L2013 weird jumping screen.
          by ahoonid
          Hey everyone.

I have a 820-3787-06 board from a MBP A1398 which has a screen issue. The problem starts with a bit of noise just like old TVs when booting and when the OS is on, screen jumps are added to the little noise on the screen. The jumps are millisecond and go back to the original place.

Since there's a little crack in the corner of the screen, I thought it has to be the display. But to my surprise it wasn't since I tried it with a fully functioning screen.

The same issue isn't happening with an external display. I did a gpu/cpu stress test on external...

Macbook Pro 15" Late 2013 A1398 Turn off randomly but after workload it shows black screen with fans spinning
          by zaler808
Hi guys, this my first post but i want to be brief about it, i recently got a MBP L2013, the problem was that after some use the macbook shutted down randomly, at first i suspected to be the battery, and after connecting it with the charger i noticed that i didn´t shut, but after an hour or so it shutdown, after that i started searching a solution to my problem, but my brother tried to help me to find the problem and it that process to replicate the problem he reproduced a 4k video in multiple tabs and not much time after the macbook shutdown to never power again, what i noticed was that the...

Apple A1398 emc 2876 randomly black screen and fan rise
          by ktmmotocross
          Hello.
Have this A1398 emc 2876 that randomly goes to black screen and raising fan. I know this was problem of gpu or gpu voltage controller, but this one is without gpu.

Is there some known failure points on them or i just count on cold solder under cpu?

          Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
          by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
          by DynaxSC
          Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...
