    A2338 - 820-02020 5V 0.370A, 20V 0.018A

    Hi all, I am working on a MacBook logic board # 820-02020. It is stuck on 5v

    PPVBUS_USBC0 = 5V
    PPVBUS_USBC1 = 0V

    PPDCIN_USBC_AON =5V

    UF500 CD3217B12 :
    PP3V3_UPC1_LDO = 3.26V
    PP1V5_UPC1_LDO_CORE = 1.56V

    UF400 CD3217B12 :
    PP3V3_UPC0_LDO = 3.26V
    PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE = 1.56V

    PPBUS_AON = 12.19V

    If i plug a second USBC on the other port , no matter which one, PPVBUS_USBC0 = 5V, PPVBUS_USBC1 = 20.1V, PP3V3_UPC1_LDO = 3.26V, PP1V5_UPC1_LDO_CORE = 1.56V, PPDCIN_USBC_AON =5V

    What is causing all this 20V not to come through. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    First, try to use ipa (alcohol) & Q-tip / cotton swab to clean up the USB Type connector contacts. Often some contamination / cat puke is blocking a proper connection for communication. There is a single wire communication on each side of the USB Type C connector with net name of CCx (CC1 / CC2). Each is used to extract details from your power adapter and then the logic board will select the optimal charge voltage and current pair (power delivery contract). You do show 20V in one of the permutations of the tests so there is hope.

    After the above -> remove all power / disconnect the battery -> meter in DIODE mode -> red meter probe to ground (yes ground); black meter probe onto the CCx pin that is working -> note the DIODE mode reading value -> repeat to test the CCx pins on the other side of this same connector that is not working. What is the measurement? Repeat for the other side of the logic board.

      Thanks for repply

      USBC0_CC1 = 0.597 on CF413
      USBC0_CC2 = 0.597 on CF414
      USBC1_CC1 = 0.597 on CF513
      USBC1_CC2 = 0.597 on CF514

      Mesure on usb c contact
      USB0 :
      CC1 = 0,597
      CC2 = 0,597

      USB1 :
      CC1 = 0,598
      CC2 = 0,598

      Yes I have 20V on the PPVBUS_USBC but only when I have 2 usbc cable connect on MacBook and only on the last cable connect the other was on 5V

        on PP3V3_S2, in diode mode i have 0.04 and 30Ohm in RES mode on LC710, with P3V3S2_PWR_EN = 0V and PP3V3_S2 = 0V
        I view on boardview PP3V3_S2 must have 0.42 in diode mode
        This is a short ? or normal ?

          It is a short. Review the link shared by this tech on the Rossmann forum - your case appears to be the same.

            UC710 was short on several pin, I whent to change it.
            but what is his reference , UC710 SN621371 . I find his reference on aliexpress only
            how I can find the manufacturer and manufacturer part number ?
