Hi All,
I have an Acer Chromebook which does not power on, no LEDs with chBeing arger plugged in, no joy with attempt at hard reset.
I have tested the charger at 19v but when checking the Power Jack that connects to the motherboard, I only get about 0.18v from the output connectors. So I replaced the short power jack connector.
I now get exactly the same as before..
Thing is, i've noticed that I can check the charger cable at 19v, pluf into the disconnected power jack assembly and get 19v at the output connector.
However, as soon as I plug the connector into the motherboard the reading drops straight away back to 0.18v. I then get the 0.18v reading on everything back up the chain including the AC Charger itself.
To get back to 19v I need to disconnect the Charger from the source and then try again.
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes down to troubleshooting boards themselves, so as wondering if this is due to an error on the mainboard that will happen until identified ?
I cannot see any scorch marks or telltale burns anywhere on mother or daughter boards so am a bit stuck.
Hoping someone can guide me on my next steps..
All help greatly appreciated..
