    Dell Latitiude D630 Bluetooth issues

The bluetooth (dell truemobile 360) in my Dell Latitude D630 started acting flaskey a few weeks ago and last week it entirely went out. The system was also very unstable (BSODs and the like) until I removed the bluetooth module.

I ordered a replacement module, plugged it in, and no change.

The bluetooth LED lights but lsusb in linux doesn't show it at all.

I already checked the palmrest header (which include the bluetooth cable)... it's plugged in and seated

I'd hate to think it's a BGA issue... but I would like to eventually be able to have bluetooth in it again.

    Any suggestions?

not likely, since lsusb doesn't require drivers to see things. Not to mention the bluetooth module is a no show under all 3 OS's on the laptop (Ubuntu 12.10 x64, Win 7 x64, Win Xp x32).

Re: Dell Latitiude D630 Bluetooth issues

I heard from a buddy who works with the D620/D630 that the palmrest cables are suspect; he's had them mysteriosly fail causing touchpad failures (none of them had Bluetooth modules though). I had been wanting to upgrade it to a toughpad with a fingerprint reader, so I bought a used replacement palmrest with a good cable and fingerprint reader (also had the BT module still installed ironically)... for a measly price of $16 shipped, I figure it's worth a try. If that fails, I'll have to wait until the semester ends until I have a chance to open it up and do further diagnosing.

see the schematic. determine the whole circuit that will make the bt to work properly.
from there you will know where to start. BT is a usb device... find the chip responsible, does it work? BT has a supply of 3.3v, find the supply chip, does it give the right voltage when switched on? atc....

              Changed the palmrest, no change.

I'll have to troubleshoot it when I have time... it's my main school laptop and it's almost always in use.

Never mind... After juggling truemobile 360 modules, I got one to show up and work.

Now finding a fingerprint suite with x64 support... not so easy (all i got was a driver).

Fixed. I tried a copy of Digital persona (what HP uses) and it saw and worked with my touchstrip just fine.

Dell 5410 that doesn't have bluetooth enabled, help please
                    by ffrlr
                    Morning guy's,

I have a Dell Latitude 5410 that doesn't have bluetooth enabled, by that I mean the internal bluetooth on the wireless card.
I have removed the wireless card and fitted it into a 5420 which uses the same card, and bluetooth works in that laptop, so I know the wireless card is fine, the one from the 5420 also doesn't have bluetooth available when in the 5410.

When I go into setup, under wirelsss, the bluetooth option is greyed out, if I look the service tag up on the Dell support page, it seems it was supplied without bluetooth, my question is...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                    by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                    Dell 3100 Chromebook Power issues
                    by JKetcham
Hello, wanting to see if anyone has any experience with Dell 3100 Chromebook's and might have some input on an issue I've been seeing with them.

I work in Technology for a good size school district, and we've began to switch away from Lenovo Chromebooks over to Dell 3100. I like the Dell 3100's because they seem to be more durable than the Lenovo N22's, N23's and 100e's we've used in the past.. but my main complaint with them is they randomly won't turn on.

Currently, in my building I have about 200 students using the Dell 3100's and daily I have a rash of students...

Polaroid P43D300 (vestel 17MB97) issues (bluetooth & various sw bugs)
                    by snimmits
                    Good afternoon,

                    I have a Polaroid P43D300.
It shipped with WiFi and Bluetooth.

Two weeks ago, I ran through the first time installation.
This did a full reset and went through the first time setup.

Once complete, I went to settings > sound.
selected Audio Link, changed setting from disabled to enabled, pressed green button on remote and the tv does a search (discovery) for Bluetooth devices.

search completes and doesn't find any devices.

I have tried everything I can think of.

                    Can someone provide...
