    a1278 820-3115 sleep led on continuously

    hey all,
    i have this board earlier it was dead no power i changed the smc and all worked fine.Then after 5 days the customer gave back with it stuck on sleep mode.
    so i checked the rams then checked all voltages they are all fine.Put another smc and also programmed the bios.Still same issue.the funny part is when i remove the rams i get long beeps indicating no ram, but still the sleep led is on continuously.I get plt_rst 3.3V ok.also LPC_ad0 ,ad1 ad2 ad3 all communicating. also i see bios communicating.
    I just narrow it to 2 issues now pch or cpu has anyone faced this problem on this board.

      This laptop refuses to sleep unless specifically commanded to sleep through Windows. If I close the lid, the screen does go dark just before the lid is closed, so it appears the hall sensor works. However, it will sit there, drawing 1.xx amps until the battery dies.       I usually let it go to sleep every time I use it because it is nearly always plugged in, with occasional shutdowns to reset things. Then it started to hard crash every time it tried to come out of sleep. The lights would come on for half a second but before anything shows on the screen they would all shut off and it would boot up as if I had shut it down completely (except that windows knows it didn't), and when it comes back on the fan ramps up to full and stays there perpetually...

      Hello all
      I have a a1278 820-3115 first no power I changed the smc no I have the fan spin all voltage present even get cpu core 1.1v but no chime no display. I programmed. The bios same problem I notice 2 things the system led is solid and the the spi rom pin 5 and 6 have no voltages in on state. But if I power down the laptop then I see all voltages on the spi rom. Also plt_rst_l i3.3v and buffer side 1.05v.I have changed 3 smc and now the intel hm77 chip also still same problem
      What signals to check.lid switch also okay without ram should give us beeps

      Hi everyone

      I have this model of Macbook that has sleep light on, also i can hear fan and hdd working, battery charging is ok, ac adapter has green and orange light, already tried smc reset with keyboard method with no result, i would like to know where to start with motherboard.

      Here is the link for them I know for sure that it works because ( I tried it on mine soldering station ) I bought two of them and I just bought two more of them so I have some extra replacement ones in my parts bin
