Soldered WLAN module replacement, any catch ?

    Hi guys

ive got spectre 15 with WLAN module soldered
in the windows device manager the device gave error 10 code.
It is a common complain, user has to shipped the laptop back to HP for service since its a hardware problem. disabling reenabling or reinstall driver didnt help

Can i easily order new WLAN module of the same model (Ax201),
unsolder the damaged one, then solder new one onto the board ?

Is there any ROM programming involved ?

For reference the module looks like this onboard

      Hi

Were you able to successfully replace the Wi-Fi module? I have the same issue.

Can anybody share some tips with replacing onboard Wi-Fi module thanks.

Code 10 is a bios enumeration fault and unable to allocate the proper resources.

Test with the latest bios. Voice your issues with their technical support team. Poor coding of the bios. Been there and corrected such faults with HP and Dell. Then received a call from Dell legal to insist we remain quiet to avoid being sued. Crapware.

ALPS Electric BT/WLAN Combo Module Experiment
          by r3vsEngIT
i have a 2017 volvo that i upgraded the stereo in but the week link now is the SBC codec the head unit uses to transmit audio. i took the unit apart and we have a UGKZ2 combo module with a CSR8311 bt chip. after some research it is my understanding that ALPS made another combo module that used the CSR8350 chip. this chip is capable of aptx. https://vehicle-electronics.biz/cont...s-alps-modules

my question is, would it be possible to swap out this UGX module as plug n play? what about replacing the CSR chip itself? any idea where to get either?

Soldered ram replacement Lenovo Slim 7 14IRP8
          by badcapjerboard
I have a board with two of four ram chips bad. I believe the configuration is 4x4GB
My question is can I replace all four chips with a larger size, say 4x8GB of the same chip model and will it be recognized without modifying the motherboard and/or bios? Is it doable without being able to find schematics?
          Thanks

Replacing the WiFi module on a vacuum cleaner iROBOT i7
          by AlexVG
          Hi,
I have had an iROBOT i7 with a camera error (error 68) version REV M, year 2018.

I bought a liquid damaged Mainboard with WiFi module, from the same vacuum cleaner, but a different year and a different version (REV G).
(This board does not respond, only the LEDs light up in a circle.
The liquid damage is catastrophic and restoration is impractical).
(I bought this board to get the WiFi module and camera).

The boards are completely different in the installation of elements, even the connector for the WiFi module is different.

          If...

DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error re. old drivers in Windows 11 install image
          by japlytic
In a Beelink GTR mini PC, mine has an Intel AX200NGW WLAN module.

          Tried (only with keyboard/mouse connected):
          • BIOS + database update
          • Using latest Windows 11 image built with official image creation tool
          • Previous setup version for Windows 11 installer
          • Replacing SSD without a slow block (the previous SSD had a slow block with access time > 500 mS)
          • TPM reset (worked to the point where DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error message is displayed briefly after the point of stalling)
          • Disabling power to WLAN and LAN modules in BIOS (Advanced > AMD PBS > PCI Express Configuration)
