    Lenovo ideapad 330-15AST dead

Lenovo ideapad 330-15AST M/B DG425/DG525/DG725 NM-B321 completely dead: no LED, no fan, nothing.
    Flashed BIOS, still dead.
    Some readings:
    +3VL 3.3V
    V20B+ 20.1V
    +5VLP 5.07V

    +1.8VALW 1.79V
    +0.95VALW 0.98V
    +0.775VALW 0.77V

    PU201 (BQ24780SRUYR):

What else should I check ?

    check ec_rsmrst#, pm_slp_s3 and pm_slp_s4, pltrst#, syson, susp, susp#. do you have 3.3 v on power button (on/off)?

ah, i guess i'm wrong ec_rmst# should be 1.8 v (close enough), but since pm_slp_s3 and s5 are missing this could be bad news.

any chance to flash the ec before further testing...?

unfortenately not. are you sure you flashed known good bios, though?

give LID_SW# and PBTN_OUT# a check please (voltage and resistance)

I've download BIOS from Lenovo, expanded and with an hex editor removed the header and reduced to fit.
                  Tomorrow Will report other readings.
                  Maybe a damaged APU?

see you tomorrow then. maybe, but there are other problems possible.

The bios chip here is 1.8V, Did you used a 1.8V adapter to flash it?

If yes, then SUSP# =0V is the cause of concern. This indicates a very likely bad SOC. Try heating on the back side of SOC a bit(not long and just for test purpose) and perhaps susp# will rise. Most of the times SUSP#=0V is 'coz of dry balls under SOC and/or bad SOC.

                        LID_SW# = 518KOhm / 3.33V
                        PBTN_OUT# = 24.1KOhm / 3.33V

Correctly flashed with a 1.8V adapter.
BTW a few minute ago I've noticed a little switch on the m/b and...the laptop boot !
Pressing power button on keyboard still doesn't turn on/off.
I'm also trying other keyboard buttons, some doesn't work so I'm suspecting a bad keyboard (maybe the customer is omitting a liquid spill ?)

Keyboards with power button-this is the first thing i check as they often fails. Lenovo has NUVO button on the board, so its easier to test. Btw, I've replaced more then 100 keyboard on lenovo ideapd 320/330 series in last 24 months. they all have power button issue.

I've contacted the customer and said that the kids spilled some water on the keyboard a few weeks ago.
Checked all the keys: almost 50% doesn't work.
BTW do You replace only the keyboard or all the upper case ?
The original part from EET is pretty expensive (96.25€+25€ shipping+VAT...almost 150€ only for the part) while other suppliers sells only the keyboard for a lower price...

you can replace the keyboard only. there are different methods out there. the "difficult" part is to have the keyboard sitting flush and tight. replacing takes some time, but in most cases, it is worth it. otherwise you could look for a used replacement part.

I replace only keyboard. carefully applying a little presurre on the meatal cover from one side to lift it up.Dont put too much pressure, else the iron plate on top of keyboard will bend and it'll be difficult to align it properly. Once the cover plate is removed, follow same procedure to remove keyboard. Then time for a new keyboard. Align the new keyboard and just melt the rubber grips with soldering iron across the kbd so that it holds tightly. Then the cover plate-this too has to be fitted with melting/spreading the plastic holes. Entire process takes almost 15-30 mins depending on your practice.

However, if you are not comfortable with the idea of replacing it yourself, just take it to any laptop dealers/service centre-they can fix it may be at a little higher price. These replacement keyboards are all chinese stuff with horrible quality and usually fails every 6 months or so.
