Configuring VRAM Straps resistor Acer Nitro 5 LA-H501P GTX 1070 after replacing VRAM

    Acer Nitro 5 LA-H501P GTX 1070

Hi. My laptop was water damaged and many things didn't work. I managed to get it up and working but had problem with GPU and at the end it turned out to be a faulty VRAM (Hynix H5GC8H24AJR-R2c) and I replaced it with (Samsung K4G80325FB-HC25) and it worked sort of. On standard drivers I was able to play fine but once exit the game laptop thrown blue screen “video tdr failure”. When I installed gaming drivers it worked fine ok, but when was running on a battery only was giving me blue screens. I think the problems is due to a wrong Straps but I can't figure it out. According to schematics RAMCFG Straps supposed to be 0x5 (for old Hynix VRAM), but physically on the board resistors are configured as 0x2 for a slightly different VRAM, also I'm not sure if only Straps 0,1 and 2 should be configured or all straps 0,1,2,3,4 and 5. I attach screen shot of schematics in which I selected Strap 0, 1 and 2 resistors that are PRESENT on the motherboard. Also attached schematics (page 29)

Strap resistors PHYSICALLY on the motherboard:

    strap0 low
    strap1 high
    strap2 low
    strap3 high
    strap4 low
    strap5 low

This board can only work with GTX1050Ti and GTX1650. But not with GTX1070. If you have a GTX1650 and swapping VRAM from Hynix to Samsung, then move the resistor from rv27 to the place of rv35. From 0x2 to 0x0

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes it's the GTX1650 I don't know why I wrote 1070 probably because I sourced the VRAMs from 1070. That's what I did i set it to 0x0, but then the VRAM is not being detected at all, in gpu-z says unknown I have also tried other configurations e.g. 0x1 detects as micron, but rest without a luck
