Satalite TV decoder - Smart card issue

I own satalite TV connection. My Decoder Not functioning well. I was able to find same model decoder from a friend but the thing is My smart card not working on that device.
When I talk with the Service provider, They told me that The decoder Im trying to use will not work on my card because it has a different serial number.

when I replace Bios chip of my new device with old chip it returns and error saying incorrect information.

I have no idea to do anything. No model number mentioned and I can share photos if needed. also I can share bios bin file if you needed.

i think the ird number is stored in the card the first time you use it.
    is it NDS Videocrypt??

Thanks for the reply. What did you mean by NDS videocrypt. ( excuse for the foolish questions. I don’t know much about this stuff)

If its about the smart card I see something called Irtedo. Is that you asked?

Edit: Previously My card worked on any similar device.(tried 2 years ago) same card. I just wanted to run a function called rescan from their portal to make it work. but recently they have changed their way. previous method doesn’t work anymore. modern decoders even don’t have a card.

        o.k.
        Irdeto is the encryption system.
NDS is a competing system that i think is used by star-tv

        you should probably ask here:

          Thanks I will try.

If I can fix my old Decoder using new one Im okay with that also. Here is the current situation on my old decoder.

It work perfectly But audio and video out faulty.

If we talk about Audio, in AV out, Red wire doesn't out any sound. may be it will out very little sound. White one is okay.

and on video out Its dancing randomly. sometimes Video is bit smudge to right side. If I keep decoder on for a long time, like 2-3 hours graphics became to normal. no more dancing or very less dance. but At the beginning it highly dancing. I tried to replace some parts but I failed. is there any possibility to fix this?

bad solder or worn capacitors if letting it heat up improves things.

I can't find out the bad cap. I tested all the caps near video jack. I haven't noticed a short. is there any clue to find exact one?

is that dust around the surface mount capacitors or did they leak??
check on both units incase it's a common problem

Nintendo 2DS SD Card Reader issue. Problem on the clock line?
                        by Technomancer
I have a 2DS that I am working on that has a problem reading SD cards. It knows that card is in the slot (which, means the detect pin is working anyway) but it says it can’t read the card.

Here is what I have done so far:
-Tried SD card in another 2DS and on PC, works great.
-Tried piggybacking another SD card slot (just so I didn’t have to take the other one off), same issue.
-Compared voltage drop readings from a working 2DS to the faulty one. All reads are very close except one, the 7th pin from the left, with the pins closest to you, which I believe...

Razer Blade 15 Advanced (RZ209-033) graphic card issue
                        by shybear
                        hi,
this laptop works but temperature rise too much. I dismounted mb and cleaned well. There was a lot of dust inside.
I think that there is a graphic chipset issue because when I power the machine I get this error:
"the detected discrete gpu VBIOS is not meant for this system"
This make me think that maybe the gpu VBIOS has to be re programmed.
BTW someone already worked on this mainboard. Near graphic board there is Winbond flash memory that I think its stored the VBIOS.
I attach some pictures and one of message error I get when I power on the ...

Marian Trace Alpha sound card repair help
                        by Christos Tsiligiannis
                        Hello to the forum.

My name is Christos, I am new to the forum here and i am posting from Greece.

So i have this old German sound card from Marian, called Trace Alpha. To be exact i have 2 of them and i use them professionally for my small FM radio station here. The first one works like a charm, but the second one does not work at all.

To be more specific in the same exact pc with windows 7 (i even tried 32bit) the one works while the other doesn't.

So i tried asking for a schematic from the company and they would not give me one. Instead they...

                        Graphics Card mounting frame
                        by Kemer
Hello, I removed the graphics card from my laptop and I want to heat it in the oven. What I want to ask is, is it okay to heat the card without removing the metal mounting frame on it?

As you can see in the photo, there is a plastic (black) gasket between the metal frame and the card. It sticks the frame tightly to the card.

I previously removed the metal frame while heating it, but it is quite difficult to separate it from the surface it is attached to. If there is no problem, I do not want to remove it.

What worries me right now is the possibility that...
