If you had 2.4VDC on the output of BR3, I think that is not right. Check those SMD resistors between the 310v cap.Last edited by CapLeaker; 02-03-2022, 04:21 PM.Comment

I missed that 2.4v, Yes that is too low, There seems to be a zener diode next to C18, what are the numbers on it? Also what is the value of C18? try replacing C18Last edited by R_J; 02-03-2022, 04:25 PM.Comment

Ok, measured in the ~~ side, there is 5.8V AC, both resistors are inside the expected value.
On the +- side there is 3.8V DC
I've solved the grounding wire that wasn't properly connected but the problem as returned to stage 1, the light fades away, so does the LCD display, but now its worst, the unit doesn't come up after a few seconds stays apparently Off without responding to any inputs.Comment

With 5.8vac into the bridge you should get about 8vdc out, so it could be that the bridge is bad.
Just to be sure I see two diodes around C18 This is the one I meant Z???

back to the project now...
The diode is connected to C18 and is a EIC65 218D5. Can't find anything on the web about it.
What about the bridge output, how to be sure about how much voltage should be in the Output? By reading the datasheet i cant be sure.

Hi guys. I have an question. Overall i am currently selling my house ( apartment with 1 room ) to buy some cheaper with 1 room too, and save cash for new pc in autumn 2024.
So i choosed some cheaper apartment in smaller city,but there is coal heating. I dont wanna heat for coal.
So i m thinking to buy electrical heater. And my question . Is this any sense to buy electrical heater when i will be using new pc with rtx 5090 and new intel ( when will be released ) ultra + Psu Seasonic 1600W?
I expect that i will pay more for bills. But i wanna know this. Will using electrical... -
Hi!!
Yesterday I was installing a new Wifi thermostat for my domestic gas water heater model Vaillant 242/2-3, and accidentlly one wire from mains touched one wire from the thermostat output contacts. This shut off the heater so I finished installing the thermostat and then went out to check the heater
I found one fuse blown (T2 250V). Replaced it with another equivalent fuse and it blew right away. I measured L-N in mains input and I sometimes got 4K but sometimes, not sure why, I got 100 Ohm...
At a certain point, moving stuff around, I put all wires back in place and... -
Got a new victim:
AcuRite 5 in 1 Iris outdoor weather station not updating the temperature / humidity anymore. The original sensor is a SHT21. Also there are identical other sensor manufacturers. I chose the HTU21D to replace the original SHT21. Both have identical specs. I've had two failure modes with these sensors.
A: outside temp stuck at -40?
It's cold here at times in Canada, but not that cold!
B: stuck at some temperature and maybe updating once in 12 hrs or so.
Easy solution is to go to AcuRite website and purchase the sensor. Right?...

I was Ollie today which is a close out / surplus outlet store I do not go in there to often because you find things that you should not be tempted by but that is a another story
