Xbox One controller 🎮 no power

It won't power on, only blinks twice and turns off when on battery.
The area marked red ia getting immediately hot when I connect the board to micro USB charger. I thought it might be the capacitor on C6 so I removed it, but looks not. I think the D23 is the first part which gets hot. What should I try? I'm a noob, have mercy

    Thanks

U1 looks like it been toasty before. It may have shorted. Do you have a DMM you can use for tests?

BTW, don't use unicode "emojis" in titles please. Some of us use old machines that choke on it.
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Dmm, digital multimeter? Yes, i do have it.
      Sorry about the emojis.
Can you give me more details on what to test exactly, please.
      Thanks

i doubt that will work unless you remove the chip, clean the pads and re-solder it - even if it's not dead.
the soldering on it is cooked.

          Darn, it's really tiny 😕
Could it be the diode or the tiny capacitor, so I check them before U1, coz it's gonna be really difficult for me 😅
Should i use hot air or can soldering iron do the job, for the removing process?

            U1 is a 5v to 3v converter. The capacitor is 100uf 10v and for the diode I've used 1N4148.
            There's a thread here where they test U1. https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index...opic=43204.120

Have you tested the diode with your multimeter ?

Re: Xbox One controller 🎮 no power

The voltage on U1 is as follows :

                Pin 1- 0v
                Pin 2- 0.67v
                Pin 3- 0.36v
                Pin 4- 0v
                Pin 5- 0.36v
                Pin 6- 0v
                Pin 7- 0.08v
                Pin 8- 1.08v

I saw what the right voltage looks like in the forum posted by diif (thanks for doing it so), this one definitely doesn't look right

Checked the diode with continuity without taking it out, looks normal. Shows 1,when reversing shows about 220.

Assuming that the U1 is faulty, which voltage should I have on U2 and U3 after removing U1.

Removed U1, the controller works now.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                    by PantherDave
                    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Tankless hot water heater controller board not powering up when power is applied
                    by sam_sam_sam
I recently bought a used tankless hot water heater and the controller board is completely dead no power up when power is applied the display board works however the main controller board does not work correctly at all the fuse is good

I bought a used replacement controller board that also had issues that I was able to fix and now the tankless water heater works correctly now

However I would like to know if I could figure what happened to this controller board if possible

Tomorrow I will take some better pictures of both side of both boards

Power supply Manson NTP-5561 (5661) LCD controller dead - PIC18F87K90 HEX dump required
                    by Andreas_de
                    Hello!

i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.

Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?
