    tektronix 5103n(D11) Oscilloscope creap

I tried to figure out which section this belonged in, but imaging is the one that seemed closest. I have a tektronix 5103n(D11) and the horizontal line is always slowly creaping down. Even if I have it probing a voltage. I tried probing a 9V battery and it would show 9V at first then very slowly keep moving down. Is there an adjustment I can make or is the scope in need of reapir? Thank you.

    Re: Oscilloscope creap

sounds like a bad transistor is slowly heating up - maybe freezer spray would be handy

Whirlpool PACF212HP W portable air conditioner, upper fan only turns slowly.
      by spleenharvester
I just acquired this portable aircon, history unknown. Its behaviour is quite strange:
      • When turned on and placed into cooling mode, the upper fan (cold air out) just spins slowly. The compressor and lower fan do not run.
      • If the device is then placed into heating mode and then back into cooling mode, the lower fan and compressor kick in and start cooling, but the upper fan still only spins slowly.
      • If the device is placed into fan-only mode, the upper fan does not respond to low/medium/high speed toggles - just keeps running slowly.
      • Display and buttons all behave normally aside from the

How not to Damage an Oscilloscope
      by Tarot Superstars
      Hello.
I have jut got my first analogue oscilloscope. An Isotech 620 20MHz.

I want to learn how not to damage it, and I found instructions on the internet obscure.
They talk about ground, earth, floating ground, this, that....
But they don't actually say anything anything useful so far.

      I want to know:
Don't connect exactly this to exactly there or it blows up.

For example, I am tracing a signal from a function generator in an audio amp, or testing for voltages in different parts of a circuit.
I want to know what not to connect...

      Dynamco analogue oscilloscope
      by Evets
I have recently acquired a Dynamco D7100 analogue oscilloscope without a user manual. As this is the first time I have owned or used an oscilloscope I would like to try and find an instruction book. The manufacturers no longer hold any information and a Google search only found one site but when I downloaded a 'service manual' all I got was gobbledegook. Any help would be gratefully appreciated or even pointers to a generic manual where I could learn more.

Firebat T8 Plus T8PLUS_V12 damaged during probing
      by spleenharvester
      Hi all

I added a Noctua fan to this dual NIC system at the DC jack, but this of course meant the fan was always on. I was probing for a 12V RUN point and my hand slipped. Now there are two problems - (1) the NIC closest to the power jack is now completely dead, no LEDs and not detected in device manager, and (2) the system is in a constant state of powered on - if the system is shut down it just turns on again a few seconds later. Apart from this the system and the second NIC are still working fine.

I've added a red arrow to where I was probing when my hand slipped, and...
