Xbox one 1540 not taking disc

My Xbox one has stopped taking discs. Sometimes it will trip the power supply and no orange light neither.
If I'm lucky it will randomly take it after about 10 power reboots.

I got a new drive, swapped over the board but same thing.
So I swapped over the motor driver IC, but still same problem.

Is this turning into a motherboard problem rather than the drive or PCB itself ?

    Help please.

It works perfectly with the drive disconnected though.

I've also replaced the 4 caps inside the PSU, even though they weren't bulging.

If there's someone with Xbox electronic repair experience with this issue, please help. Daughter can't play her favourite Kinect game.

you could either test the supply or the motor or both ..

Looking at the schematics, it all leads back to the Southbridge chip, which aso handles the SMC.
I'll try reflow that when I get a chance.

So I reballed the Southbridge, but did not resolve the issue.
What I found is that U5C2 is not getting ODD_3P3V_STBY_EN signal, or it's being pulled down. ODD_3P3V_STBY_EN is generated by the Southbridge.
Any idea's whats going on ?

Re: Xbox one 1540 not taking disc

Ok another test. Unit off, disc half inserted, turn in unit with button and the drive takes the disc in, also ilejects when button is pressed.
BUT, if unit is already turned on and I try insert disc, it won't accept it.
                        I'm totally baffled.
Anyone else know how to fix this ?

maybe the signals that show "tray" status arent right.
i know on the original xbox it had tray-open, tray-closed and maybe a disc signal so the computer knew when to read the drive
did you check the physical sensors that detect the disc and loader position?

Yep, tried 2 drives, swapped over the married PCB. But same thing.
Opto sensors only work if I perform the procedure of half disc insert then power on. Otherwise they have no voltage.

So I finally found a way of fixing the issue. It not ideal but works everytime for disc insert and eject.
U5C2 transistor wasn't giving output. So I bridged 2 pins together. Works a treat.
                              See the picture.

                                  Good Afternoon fellas,

                                  Issue:
Disc is showing as not supported when a disc is put in.

Here's what I've done, you can skip this if you just wanna know the question:
                                  - replaced with a disc drive from a donor ps5 (honestly questionable if this is known to work)
                                  - reflowed the disc drive connector
-reflowed the chip in question (shown on image)
                                  - I will say this console was very dusty so it's conceivable that it got so hot that it made the chip joints cold and potentially other things on the board

                                  Question:
                                  I...

                                  Xbox One S - 12V Rail Short - Q9F1 Keeps Blowing

                                  Hello,

Have an Xbox One S here that has a short on the 12V power rail. There is no power, beep, or partial fan spin when connecting power cable.

After diagnosing with thermal camera, Q9F1 MOSFET (NTTFS4C50N) is getting hot. When I remove this MOSFET, the short on the 12V rail disappears.

I first replaced Q9F1 with one from a donor board and then partially reassembled the Xbox to test. When I plugged the power cord in, I got a partial fan spin and I thought I had fixed it, but unfortunately, the Xbox still did not power on. So I then disassembled the Xbox...
