    Ayaneo 2021 pro short help

Hi,device had removed usbc pd driver chip cypd5225 because it was hot, when i got mainboard i connected it to usb charger to test, and after 2-3 tries HP8K24 chip got fried.main voltage was ok(it is ryzen 7 4800u console with 11v battery).Im not very familiar with this design, but after long time i found short on rt3663bm chip on OFSAA( pin24 & 23(resistance to ground0.4ohm),which is doing overclocking through NB of CPU.I have pulled all coils, but
lowest resistance to ground is 3ohm on cpu side...Is cpu dead?

In the meantime i removed rt3663bm chip,"short" is still there on traces that lead to this chip pin24&23...In manual says :23 Over clocking offset setting for the VDD controller.
24 OFSA Over clocking offset setting for the VDDNB controller.

Has anyone got any further with this? I've got one that won't charge at all and the CYPD5225 IC is the only thing that gets warm. One cap at the bottom right reads 8.5ohm at the top nearest the IC, and 0.2 ohm at the bottom (assuming ground). See attached pic

Any help is greatly appreciated, never worked on one of these before!

Post the full topside markings of this power delivery controller. Is it a bga or qfn package?

I also found the audio IC had gone pop.... seems to have arc'd to the bottom of the wifi board. I also get a lot of heat from a small IC marked DDN149, on the opposite side of the board to the CYPD5225 IC, but i can't find any info. No shorts found around the IC. It has 3.3v one side and 8v the other, not sure if it's up or down converting.

                  Pics for reference

                  Thanks for the quick replies!

So that appears normal then. Is that with the IC removed?

I haven't taken mine off yet as I don't want to have to reball it if it isn't the issue!

I'm also getting a 4ohm reading to ground on both sides of the caps and coils next to the CPU.... it's not looking good...

The cpu has southbridge which is connected to pd controller directly, probably when chip died,it has taken cpu with it...it is such design...that is me thinking loud...

                            Hello

I have an ayaneo NEXT with the same PCB and the same shorts. Mine stops working one day and smoke comes out around the power button. After opening it the usb-c chip was burned.

When I try to turn it on, it turns the cpu fan at max speed and no video output. The battery is fully charged.

The usb-c port only takes 5v. I'm planning to remove the usb-c chip and try to use the device with battery only to check its health or something.

Also, I notice that there is another battery connector that only has + and - contacts so maybe use it to power on the device.

The thing is that I came across this post and after checking the image I have short to ground one mosfet and all coils around the battery side of APU. I will try to find what causes the short.

I didn't find any schematics at all. I found some for different chips like controllers for charging and power on the device with brand "ITE".

The post was like a year ago, please let me know any progress you have made since then.

By the way, the device died after an electric storm and the device was connected to my usb hub deck. The hub is ok.

I tested a lot of condensers and they have continuity but I have no idea if they are supposed to be like that. maybe I could remove one by one and check continuity desolders to check if they are ok at least.

I'm using the 1tb m.2 drive on my main computer so it's ok too.

                            Thanks

                              Hello

I removed the usb-c chip and now the vrm controller chip is in short circuit...

I will ask someone with knowledge on boards repair.

                              Thanks
