    Aerogarden

Hey ya'll, Anyone ever messed around with an aerogarden? It is a hydroponic growing system if you didnt know.

Anyway, the main board is not working, so me being me, im using an arduino nano instead.
Well, the problem im having is that the leds are not working. I have continuity and all, and all leds light with my meter, so Im lost.
the wall wart that came with it is 12VDC output, Im pulling out my hair, and I dont have that much left to begin with

    Any ideas?

you can read this repair: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=75114
post some good pictures of the PSU and the other boards.
    Hope it helps.

Here are pics of boards...The pump runs on my power supplym but the leds dont . I've checked all leds and they work with my meter, and wires all have continuity. I checked most components on the board but found nothing weird

Usually these Aerogarden’s are pretty bulletproof. Mostly the capacitors die, it’s not so common for the LED’s to go. What model Aerogarden is this? The ones I dealt with had a main board and then an extra LED driver in the top were the lights are. On your pic the cap in the middle looks like the sleeve shrunk due to heat. TBH recap the board with low ESR capacitors and then try it again.

        More food for thought:
Only because an LED does light up using a multimeter, does not guarantee that the LED is any good. You have to power the LED or the strip carefully up. I’ve seen quite a few LED’s that looked good with the DMM, but when power went through it, it was a different story.

I tried to get the lights with my power supply, and they didnt work. Its a harvest 360, about 8 inches in diameter (203.2 mm for you metric folk ) The leds are just on a piece of metal (i think), and 2 wires come down to the board.
I did notice fb1 looks weird. there is a chunk of solder on it. maybe it shorted something.
I'll have to trace out the circuits on the lights and check each seperately

before you go too crazy... try simple things first. Does this have an external wall wart? If it does, change that and see if it works. You need stable power, only because you unplug the wall wart from the unit and measure it, doesn't mean it can handle a load.

Ive been using the wall wart for another 12v thing i have. Ive marked all of the traces for the lights, just need time to mess around more. Im getting close to digging out an arduino and using that lol

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
                by Pipolups
                Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

So I use this TV daily as a second monitor for my PC or my Playstation - at one point a few months back I tried to fix the problem - but in the process, I figured out something that works so I haven't posted this for awhile. It is an annoying trick to have to do though, so I decided to post about it to see if anyone could spot what's wrong. It baffles me because it works on it's own half the time.

When I first got this TV, I was told it wouldn't turn on, and of course I did the flashlight test, and the image was there. Also, the red LED on the front indicated that it had power (it...

                Replacing Mode Indicator LEDs
                by VitalComputing
                Hi all,

I have what should be a simple job but is causing me issues. There are three LEDs (yellow, green and red) on the indicator panel of a solar PWM controller and these have broken off. I need to replace them but I am unsure of the voltage drop across these. I don't want to replace with random LEDs in case they blow.

I took one of the LEDs out of circuit, put 19V across it with a 500 ohm resistor in series and there is a drop of about 13V across the LED, and this seems to increase as I increase the input voltage.

I thought I could just put a resistor...

just a quick question do all qled leds appear blue when fault finding ?
                by jimbofz
i have replaced many leds strips that have changed blue when they are worn
and the new replacements are perfect white
but when fault finding do quantum leds always look blue?

                LEDs for TV Backligth
                by Quantum IC
                Hello everyone
I'm new to LED strip LED replacement.
The original LED comes with a single internal LED or chip. I only get at the moment LEDs with two internal LEDs or chips.
I understand that this is due to the tone of the light they emit.
                My Doubt is:
Can I use the LED with two internal chips without problem?
Will there be much difference in the picture?
I'm going to replace all the LEDs.
Both LEDs (original and replacement) are 3V and the same size....
