Dell PowerEdge T110 server that stopped working after a stress test - bios request

    Hello everyone,

I'm working on a Dell PowerEdge T110 server that stopped working after a stress test. I need help recovering the VPD EEPROM (AT24C02).

    ― HISTORY ―
I bought this server at a charity bazaar (Pequeno Cotolêngo, Brazil). I cleaned it up, installed Windows 10 LTSC, and tested it all day — heavy file transfers to 3 HDDs, driver installations, and finally added an external audio card to watch YouTube. At that point the machine shut down suddenly and never came back.

    ― SYMPTOMS ―
    • Power supply would not arm (no PS_ON signal)
    • Forced the PSU with a jumper — board powers on, fans spin, green LED on
    • Solid amber LED appears 18 seconds after power on
    • CPU and PCH remain completely cold — no POST, no video
    • With RAM removed: amber LED blinks (BMC alive and detecting missing RAM)
    • With RAM installed: amber LED goes solid after 18 seconds (BMC timeout)
    • NVRAM_CLR jumper procedure performed — no change

    ― DIAGNOSIS ―
    After full investigation:
    • MX25L3205D (4MB BIOS Flash) — READ SUCCESSFULLY, content intact
    • AT24C02 (256 bytes VPD EEPROM) — reads as ALL FF, completely blank

The BMC (Nuvoton WPCM450) is alive but cannot complete initialization without valid VPD data, so it never releases the CPU boot sequence.

I generated a test VPD bin file with the correct machine data but the BMC rejected it — the structure or checksum format I used was not correct for this board.

    ― BOARD DETAILS ―
    • Model: Dell PowerEdge T110
    • PCB#: 316783600001 A00
    • ASSY: 411783600015 A00
    • VPD chip: AT24C02 (256 bytes, I2C)
    • Programmer: EZP2023+

    ― MACHINE DATA ―
    • Service Tag: 8X4PQN1
    • Express Code: 19417561885
    • MAC LOM1: B8:AC:6F:FC:58:F2
    • MAC LOM2: B8:AC:6F:FC:58:F3

    ― REQUEST ―
    Could anyone please share:
    1. A dump from an identical T110 board (PCB# 316783600001) so I can edit it with my machine data, OR
    2. A pre-edited bin file with the correct VPD structure for this board

I can provide photos of the board and the EZP2023+ read results if needed.

Thank you very much for any help!

    • Modelo: Dell PowerEdge T110
    • Nº da placa: 316783600001 A00
    • Conjunto: 411783600015 A00
    • Chip VPD: AT24C02 (256 bytes, I2C)
    • Programador: EZP2023+

    — DADOS DA MÁQUINA —
    • Etiqueta de serviço: 8X4PQN1
    • Código Express: 19417561885
    • MAC LOM1: B8:AC:6F:FC:58:F2
    • MAC LOM2: B8:AC:6F:FC:58:F3

    — SOLICITAÇÃO —
    Alguém poderia compartilhar:

    Hello everyone,

I need help recovering a Dell PowerEdge T110 server.

The machine died after a power failure during stress test. The AT24C02 EEPROM (VPD chip) was erased by the event — reads as all FF. The main BIOS Flash (MX25L3205D) was read successfully and is intact.

Without valid VPD data the BMC does not release PS_ON and the machine won't boot at all.

    Board details:
    - Model: Dell PowerEdge T110
    - PCB#: 316783600001 A00
    - ASSY: 411783600015 A00
    - VPD chip: AT24C02 (256 bytes, I2C)

Machine data (for editing the dump):
    - Service Tag: 8X4PQN1
    - Express Code: 19417561885
    - MAC LOM1: B8:AC:6F:FC:58:F2
    - MAC LOM2: B8:AC:6F:FC:58:F3

Could anyone share a dump from an identical board, or a pre-edited bin file with the correct VPD structure?

    Thank you very much!
