Unfortunately I have to disolder 16mb Chip because it is too close to pciexpress slot.... Clips does not fit thereComment

Perhaps it is easier you can give me file ME Version 14.1.53.1649V1.1 (extracted from BIOS 2701)?? What do you think??
So I have test it to 8mb SPI right now...Comment

Tried extracting it, and it's the same version.. 14.1.51.1528, that's why ASUS tells you to manually update ME firmware
There's a convenient 2mm pitch SPI header on the board, found the boardview for the non WIFI version, and the chip that's closest to the PCI Express slot is the 8MB (W25Q64JV) chip according to boardview
The bottom chip is the 16MB chip (W25Q128JV)
SPI header pinout according to boardview
pin 1, F_SPI_CS1#_R, is connected to the 16MB chip
pin 2, F_SPI_WP# , shared
pin 3, +F1_SPI_PWR, 3.3V, shared
pin 4, GND
Pin 5, F_SPI_CS0#_SPI is connected to the 8MB chip
pin 6, F_SPI_CLK_L, shared
pin 7, F_SPI_MISO_L, shared
pin 8, F_SPI_MOSI_L, shared
pin 9, F_SPI_HOLD#, shared
You have to switch CS0# or CS1# depending on which chip you want to program
Another option, solder 8 wires between the chip and programmerAttached FilesPremium supporters get full download access and other benefits.

by ronaldopdiasI’m troubleshooting an ASUS ROG Strix B660-I Gaming WiFi motherboard and I’m a bit stuck at the BIOS level. What I’ve tried so far
- Attempted to flash the BIOS using the USB BIOS FlashBack (Q-Flash) port with a properly formatted FAT32 USB drive.
- BIOS file downloaded directly from the official ASUS support page.
- Followed the exact FlashBack procedure (correct port, renamed file, standby power only).
Issue:
The FlashBack LED does not blink at all — no activity whatsoever. Further investigation
Because FlashBack didn’t work, I:- Removed the BIOS SPI IC from

by akwkyHi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).
Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...04-14-2025, 01:56 PM -
by razor_amdWith ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.
For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.
I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.
This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...-

Power button works okay....power light goes on
Red "bottom" leds go on
Charging led works
Fans do not spin, capslock key does nothing, screen stays black
I would like to program the bios again, to rule out a corrupted bios.
However I run into a size error
The bios chip is a Winbond 25R256JVEN
Used my Xgecu T-48 to read the bioschip (using select chip as type XM25QH256B @WSON8, read somewhere...-
